  1. I fellow shooter passed on and I was lucky enough to recieve probably 1500 pieces of starline supercomp brass and 700 loaded rounds of loaded 38sc with 9.5 grains of w571. Bullets are 124jhp. Pulled round and grains are spot on. Everything is well labeled. Would this be a ok practice load for my bedell open pistol?

  2. Nothing will take your mind off it. Trust me I know!! You will catch your self thinking about it during the whole day. I was even thinking about it when having fun with the lady at home! :surprise:

Just get out and shoot a different division and pretend its you behind the pistol.

  3. The bullet feeder is ok. Mine took some tweaking with sand paper and a dremel to drop .40 bullets and not get hung up in the spring tube. It will not work with lead bullets. The collets will not allow a bullet to drop on a case because lead bullets are a bigger dia. If i didn't have a cabelas credit and got the bullet feeder free withe the points, I would be a little disappointed with it. It works, but usually just sits there because i'm loading moly bullets, or switching calibers and dont feel like setting it up.

  4. I had the same problem with mine, so i put a small plastic wiper inside of the bowl near the drop tube. It would knock off cases that were between the bowl and the case that had dropped into the case shell plate. This solved the hang up on the left side of the case feeder drop window. If you send me your email i'll send you a pic. I cant post pics yet.

  5. Thanks for the all the info. I have to just sit down and think over the pros and cons. Sounds like the .38 is a better round, but 9mm has the Convenience of cheap brass. Now I just have to decide!!

  6. This is really tough and I know this has been covered before. You talk to a lot of shooters and they say 9mm. You talk to the gun smiths they steer you to .38 super comp. That is straight from several smiths from the Florida Open, and from Dan. At this time in my life, I don't mind pickin up my brass. I just want to make the right decision if i'm going to be spending all that money.

  7. Going to buy my first open gun. Decided to go with a Bedell, since he is only a couple hours away and have shot a couple of his guns. The only decision now is caliber! 38 super comp or 9. Half of the people say .38 and the other half say 9. Oh what to do, when it seems split down the middle?

  8. My lnl works as well as my 650. The case feeder on the hornaday took a little tweaking but works like a champ now. Thousands of .40 rounds through it without a problem. I,ll be happy to share what i did to the case feeder and little tweaks to the press.

  9. Both will work well. I would make the decision on what I could get brass for the cheapest. If your club(s) have a lot of once fired 40 brass get that caliber. If it has a lot of .45 get that.
