  1. I've decided that I'm not going back to a brick and mortar gun shop till I can find one that's not full of crap!!!

I was going to by an XDM 45acp today but the clerks were more interested in selling a Ruger 380 LCP to a chick that didn't know what she was buying.

Not to mention that they treat every one like they are morons...

I asked, "have you shot one of these?"

    He answered "Yes"

    Me. "How was it?"

Him. "Well I've shot a 45, just not this kind. There's a lot of recoil, are you sure you want a gun this big????"

    Dip-s&*$!! I have several!!!!!!

I've read the thread about "stupid things heard in a gun store"...Remember guys it goes both ways!!!

I'll just buy it on gunbroker.... ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!:angry::angry:

  2. I can't afford to purchase my 650 yet but have gotten the Dillon bug from all you guys. SOOO I have started buying some components and setting up the work space. Yeah I know...lol..a little OCD...

I bought 4000 9mm brass off GunBroker. Not having a Dillon yet to eat up my time, My kids and I put on gloves and sorted brass. I thought I'd share with ya'll what I found.

There were about 50 of what I decided to cull,(Silver cases, WCC, Win NT and stuff with Russian writing.)I culled the silver cases because I don't know the difference between alum/steel/nickle.

    About 35% Starline

    About 25% Winchester

    About 25% F.C.

About 15% split between S&B, R-P, CBC, Blazer, PMC

I figured this is about the average for mixed head range brass...what do ya think?

  3. You inevitably go through one of the periodic safe emptying sales when times are hard, but rather than mourning the losses, you realize how much space there is now to fill back up when times are good again.

I just buy another safe!!! I need more room!!!

  4. I'm stuck in Houston and Live near Ft Worth. I feel the pain of everyone that has bitched on this post... :roflol:

It was supposed to snow today so my flight canceled...Now I'm stuck in the Hilton with a room service cart full of beer...hey what am I bitching about??? :sight:

  5. Im new to the sport and im just starting my 12 year old son out. I have him shooting a glock model 17 with a advantage arms 22 kit and wanted him to start shooting with the 9mm top end. Any thoughts

    john

Since I'm not sure what Texas Law is, All I'll say is all my kids (3) handle a 9mm VERY WELL. Mine are 19,15,11.

This is a target by my 15y/o. We don't compete and thus don't shoot enough. It's NOT perfect, but I was a proud papa. He wants to compete, but I don't even know where to start.

  6. OK,

    So that I understand clearly.

I have been buying some brass online to get ready for my 650 purchase.

*Some of the brass will end up being crimped primers? (Military? WIN? Win NT? S&B )

    Does this make it unloadable?

    * How do I identify these before trying to reload them?

*Will I hurt my machine if I try to reload one of these?

#I've read things like "too tight" and "won't seat all the way" would this make it more likely to have an accidental primer discharge?

*Is it simply using the Super Swage 600 on this brass? (I have watched the videos, but they use them on rifle ammo) I have 2 teenage sons that can work the Swage.

    Thanks

    J

  7. Richard welcome to the forum. I'm kinda new too. I live between Weatherford and Granbury. I shoot on my ranch and at the new Lonestar Range. (where skatequeen was) it's really nice and I took my CHL there too.

I've been wanting to get into some kind of competition. I'm gonna go watch soon. We'll have to hook up and you can shoot my handguns. I have about a dozen. PM me sometime.

  8. I was a trauma nurse for 10 years and a corpsman on the ground in Iraq before that. I could paint a barn with blood. I guess it's all about what you get used to...

I have an AMT Backup 45... It's small and really aggressive. I cut my thumb at the base every time I shoot it. You'd think I would learn, but I fail to adjust my grip every time...

    I never said I was smart...lol

  9. I love my PX4 Subcompact in 9mm. It's smooth, hasn't ever jammed and the recoil is very light for such a small handgun.

I am shooting consistently 2" low and 2" left. I thought it was me and re-examined everything. My stance, etc.... I then tried some of my other handguns and (I had a Ruger and Sig with me) and I was right on.

I don't shoot competitively so do not have the accuracy experience most of ya'll do.

    Any thoughts?
