I to have run STI Mags out of my Pro Match .40 with no problem from day 1. I use the MBX's out of the Tac Ultra HC 9mm (51679) as the STI do not fit "my" gun.
-
I've been thinking about doing mine but with the front cocking serrations I'm not sure I want to cut in that area. I've thought about opening up the top like a G34 or XDM 5.25".
Here is a M&P I did a while back. Don't know if these cuts would look good on a 2011.
The M&P looks great.... What is your concern with cutting into the front serrations?

That is sweet!!!!!!. Can you provide the details on who did the work? Also, what did you do to the gun to compensate for the reduced weight of the slide. (springs, etc) Thanks again....

Has anyone modified the slide on the Pro Match 40 or Ultra HC 9mm? (Modified: meaning those pretty cuts and wholes) Pics if you have them...

There have been several people fit the Triglide into the RIA 2011 HC's. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=201265 Search Triglide

Are the 155's legal for USPSA limited?

You have been a great source of nfo for me. What ive re-learned was that the sti and cv's are expensive for a reason. That being said, u can make these inexpensive guns into very good shooters. A little cash and hands on work go a long way. These pistols are not my STI's but they are better than the Glocks and S&Ws IMHO.

This will be the second season that I got mine, there was little to no info then, and RIA had no mags to sell. I took the plunge and spent the money on an STI after trying one of the other shooters mags, works. The TF magwell fit great, you come to expect that from them, although I don't notice any real benefit from installing it compared to the original. I am using Grams internals for the mags. I hope for your sake that the quality has improved, my slide wouldn't come of the frame(yes I took the slide stop out) when tipped over, lots of polishing. Ran another shoot this weekend, ran flawlessly. Good luck, lets us know about your experiences.

Yep. The Taylor Freelance "Fattie"

I have sti 140s. I didn't know these would work. Did you change the magwell ?

Man i have been doing the mag shuffle for a month with the tac 9mm 51679. I to ordered the pro match 40.
So here is what I know:
Stock Magwell: Mec-Gar P14 with the Dawsons basepads works great.
After market magwell: I bought the Taylor Tactical "Fattie" Magwell. The Mec-Gar/Dawsons combo does not work. The MBX mags works perfectly. I also recently found out that the STI 140mm works as well. Wish i knew this b4 i bought THE MBX's.
There are several threads on Enos addressing this. What i stated is what works for me...

I just ordered a 51738 from grabagun. If you click on their best price it comes back at $814 plus $6 shipping. Should I change the magwell ? What mags should I use with either the original magwell or should I replace the magwell with ... and what mags. thanks for your help.

I have been looking for one for a few months with no luck.Buds has the pro match 40 in stock. It is $860. Is it worth the extra @ $250 over the 51782 ? Why ?

6Liter24OZ. Where did u find the Pro Match 40 in stock

As usual, the gun screwed that match, no matter how hard I aimed it, it would only shot C's and D's. I wish I could blame it on the gun! Ran great, only had one FTF? The new front sight helped, and wish I could say the new mag well helped as much, didn't notice any difference. The trigger work got me a couple of times, it breaks right at 3 lbs and is crisp. The results haven't been released yet, but for the first day out, I didn't feel to bad. Of course the only stage that counts, classiffier, I blew it. The only one that did it well was the new Production shooter? go figure. What's the old saying, next time.
What trigger are you running. Did it require much fitting. Thanks....

I do have the Pro Match 40, using a Taylor Freelance magwell. I'm running STI 140 mags w/Dawson SNL basepads and Grams internals.
Was there any fitting done to the magazine itself or the mag release?
-
Superslowmo, I did no modifications to the magwell for the Dawson basepads, or to fit the gun. TF does say that fitting may be required, depends on the gun I guess?
My mags (the dawson basepad, Mec-Gar P18 mags) won't work with the TF magwell. I running the 9mm HC 56179 and you are running the .40 Promatch 51738 correct? The 140mm MBX fit perfect. Which magazine are you using with the Dawson basepads out of your Promatch .40

Back again Quadrant, this is my Pro Match 40, the new addition is the Taylor Freelance magwell, have shot it, and like it, but tomorrow will be the true test, have the first competition. It's still cold and wet in Montana.
Looks Sweet... Let us know how it runs at the match... Good Luck

I'm running the MBX Para's. I would have to perform major surgery to get the 9mm STI to work. The MBX's were problematic as well. My Tac Ultra HC 9mm (51679) is difficult. Apparently the specs for these (the 51679) may differ from gun to gun. Adrian at MBX was great to work with.
The only reason I went away from the Mecgar (with the Dawson basepad) was I replaced the stock magwell with a Taylor Freelance "Fattie".
