  1. Clay1,

I use Decot Hy-Wyd bifocals and settled on the following configuration with the help of Robert from Decot. My bifocal is a 2.50, they brought .75 of that up into the main part of the lens to bring the handgun front sight into focus. This for me was not enough to disturb the long distance focus (barely noticeable). The bifocal line was placed low enough so as not to be in the way for any activities other than close up reading, etc.. I initially started with .25 in the main part of the lens and that was not enough and didn't last long. the bifocal still remains a 2.5 overall. The light rose color works well all around for me. Hope this helps.

  2. .380 rear to .385 max front feed lip width, narrower at rear of mag with slight flair toward front. Once I switched to 2011's I figured I better know how to keep them running. $100 for a tuning kit and some knowledge gained goes a long way.

  3. Steve RA...The "bolt forward" may have been a misnomer but it does move slightly and takes the presssure off the lugs as the gas comes in behind the gas rings holding the bolt stationary (linear) as the carrier is forced rearward and the bolt rotates free as the cam pin does its' work.

  4. I too was able to acquire one of the last JP barrels from Shooters Connection and an LMOS carrier on 12-28, the last available as far as I know. On 1-4-13 I paid for a JP-15 in full and the build entered the queue. They are focusing on lowers for obvious reasons if paid in full and then will work on uppers. I am picking up the lower this morning from the FFL (it arrived yesterday), 3 weeks have passed. How far out the upper is I have no idea. Hope this info. helps in your decision.

  5. I met John when he came to the second day of a two day NST class. He brought his wife and kids and we started taking about gun cases. He

insisted on taking me over to his Land Cruiser and pulling out cases that he felt were the best built and showing me the features and talking about the design criteria that went into them. Thoughts and prayers for his family as they deal with the loss.
