an open pistol for under $1k is a steal. I have a Mclearn 9x23 top end that just pricing parts and minimal labor i get over $900. I have an Essential Arms frame ( Para Ordnance clone) that I hope one day to put the two together into a back up for my Para Ordnance 9x23 open gun. Go through Brownells and price out the parts to complete the bottom end. It gets expensive in a hurry. Fortunately once you get it done, it will last many years.

I have been out of shooting for few years because of severe chronic health problems. Having said that, when i was shooting regularly I would shoot every Tuesday night paper and steel at Rio Salado, every Thursday night paper and steel at the Cactus Combat Match League and then one or two USPSA matches each weekend. I also practiced 1 or 2 days each week. Given the quality of competition at Rio Salado I think I got a true evaluation of how I was doing and I was privileged to watch many Master and Grand Master shooters, including TGO. When I did go to a larger match away from home I was not nervous since I regularly shot against some of the worlds best.
I was shooting about 25k rds a year in matches.

anyone who cannot afford 3-10 round magazines cannot afford to GO to the Steel Challenge.

I had a 2 day semi private lesson with TGO. He said it was originated by Bill Wilson. Back then, the late 80s', a Master Class Bill drill was, surrender start, one target, 7 yards, draw, shoot 6 As' in 2 seconds or less. Must be all A zone or it does not count. I am sure GMs are doing this in 1.4 seconds or less now. I have made the 6 A zone in under 2 seconds, 9 times, ever. I watched TGO do 7 in a row. On the 8th one he pulled a C zone. Back then he said 7 in a row was the world record. If he had made #8 he would have set the new record. I am sure he can do many more now.

no where in "if clear, hammer down and holster" does it say or imply "pull the trigger". with a revolver your hammer is already down.

I had similar failures with my Para Ordnance 9x23 open pistol. I found that the last time I cleaned it, I inadvertently put in a 14# spring for my P14-45. Putting in the proper 10# spring cured the problem. (well DUH!!!)

Starline. You can order directly from them, or Midway usually has it in stock.

I have a 6" 686+ I will be using for ICORE. It has not yet been cut for moons. Who is currently the best bet to get this done? What is your source for .38 Short Colt brass? Or do I need to cut .38spl down? I do have plenty of .38Super and 9x23 brass from my IPSC open class pistol. What about rechambering for 9x23 or .38Super? Or for that matter 9mmP?
I know I ask many questions but I have been out of competition for a few years and would like to know what is going on now.

MY screen name IS my name, and 9x23 is my favorite cartridge. I used to be a regular at Rio Salado and Cactus, and hope to be again soon.

regarding the statement that 145 shooters were at the IRC.. how many of these were with USPSA/IPSC legal revolvers? perhaps half. the IRC runs open and limited championships concurrently.

Eric, your suggestion that Robbie would tell you to "go.........." tells me you know NOTHING about the man. meet him before you disparage him. but then, once you meet him, you will NOT disparage him.
