Would like to see a  open division. Like Icore. My eyesight just doesn't allow open sights any more.

I don't see where open (optics/comp) is that big of an advantage in revolver, so sticking them in open division seems wrong.  Putting them in revolver would be preferable to open, if creating another division is unacceptable.

And that is only because the two local major revolver shooters that I know (one a vintage Model 25 that he bought just prior to the change (oops) and the other a 625 that I sold him years ago) are two damn cheap and hard-headed to invest in an 8-shot minor revolver! 🤣

    Hey! I resent/resemble that remark.

  3. This may have already been covered, but I couldn't find it.  Have been having a lot of bulged brass picked up from matches that are so bulged it makes a ridge at the base of the case after resizing.  Thought at first maybe it was 9 major, now I'm thinking it is Pcc as they outnumber open 9's at our range.  Just wondering if I am right or wrong.  Appreciate any thoughts, not that I can do much except screen the brass better.  Thanks

  4. The function not working is "readiness" not the safety.  Is not the readiness a shooter issue?  Sounds like a non-problem being made into a problem.

  5. I wonder if perhaps a batch of the competition hammers were not hardened properly or something.  My SP-01 with competition hammer wore out in under 20k.

  6. Was at the factory all day Wednesday. Saw the new production line and QC machines, very very nice. Took a few pics, but it's PITA to upload them here.

Anyhow, they have had a delay, they are hoping to start shipping next week, we'll see. I go back on the 28th and hope to get more news, if they haven't started shipping by then.

Thanks slavex, nice to hear some news.

  7. Had this happen on my LNL and came to the conclusion that these primers are flat enough on the bottom that they would catch, not the one in the priming mechanism, but the one above it. So I polished the areas that could cause that catch and flip action, which seems to have fixed the problem. Don't know where or if that could happen on a Dillon press. Good luck!

  8. What weight springs are you using for recoil and hammer springs?

I think the hammer spring/firing pin stop angle might have more to do with the break in the picture.

I'm just starting to experiment with firing pin stop angles, but I think the 2011 guys are way ahead of us in that department.

Had the my TS 40's barrel break there, but round count was 15-19 K. Could you explain how the angle you mentioned would cause the barrel lug to crack, please.

    Thanks,

    Steve

  9. I'm guessing here, but the little springs push the sear cage/ejector forward, so maybe the ejector is farther back now. Could just as easily be the extractor or extractor spring causing problems too.

  10. Your bullet will determine the max oal the chamber will hold, there is also a limit to what the magazine will reliably feed. I understand that 1.145 is about the magazine max, but I keep mine at 1.135 inches. YMMV if you are only loading 10 maybe you can run them longer. Anyway, for the bullets I shoot there is no need for reaming.

  11. Dies that ONLY flare the case mouth (see the Lee Universal Expanding Die, which does not expand the case).

The case, particularly for lead bullets, should have an ID that is 0.001-0.002" less than bullet diameter. If your expander die doesn't do this, it is an "improper expanding die."

Thanks noylj. I have noticed how deep the expander actually goes into the case and was somewhat annoyed, but now it makes sense. Thanks, again.

  12. You should really use a proper expander die and not just flare the case mouth. A non-expanded case can swage down a lead bullet and produce a round much less accurate.

So, the coating will resist gas-cutting from not filling the bore completely?

So which dies are considered improper expanding dies. Just wondering if I can improve my process. Thanks
