  1. I travel to 3 gun matches in 2015-2017.  I stopped shooting 3 gun because it is taking too much time away from my family.  Even local match is a day.  We carry 3 gun and ammos for 3 gun, starting to be really expensive and ridiculous and only pro's getting the major prizes.  Match fee, hotel cost, gas for long travels and restaurant food for almost 4 days is serious money.  I lost my job and almost lost my family because of this 3 gun (and my shooting sports in general).

It is not about shotgun.  I love shotgun and one of my favorite match is the Benelli Shotgun championship.  I'm coming back into the shooting sports in a more controlled manner.  More to be with friends.   I am shooting just local half day USPSA just 1 or 2 times a month with spouse approval.  I may just shoot local PRS matches and I probably shoot shotgun matches.  For me it is dumping rifle rounds in close proximity is what I'm not excited about.

I met wonderful people and have wonderful memories from the 3 gun matches.  I miss it.  But whatever I do now, I make sure I have family support and I don't neglect your job.  This sport is fun but let us not kid ourselves, this hobby is expensive and eats a lot of time.

  2. I was not able to because I did all the wrong decisions.  I have one of the best 2011 limited gun built by LimCat early in my shooting sport days.  And best SVI mags.  To save I should just have kept it and shoot it and reload my own ammo and pick brass.

What I did was I chased other divisions, chased other guns, buy, sell, buy, sell....  Do not be like an idiot like me.  Get a good gun (even an STI EDGE is good enough) and just keep on shooting until you become GM.

  3. I used to attend around 7 major 3 gun and USPSA matches 4-5 years ago.  I lost my job and almost lost my family.  So I  stopped shooting, went back to school to study and dedicate my weekends more to family and volunteering.  Now maybe I plan to shoot local USPSA matches once a month.  Some match that will last half day at most so that I can still run errands and spend quality time with my family at home.  As fun 3-gun is, it takes a lot of time and other resources.  And I'm getting old. 😃

  4. I've been closing or squinting my right eye for shooting.  I found out that I was focusing at looking at my sights (rear and front) that is why I'm getting double vision when I open both of my eyes.  Then I try to look at target instead and do not look at my sights.  I put the gun in front of me and viola!, I can now open both my eyes and only see single vision.  Try it!

  5. In my experience, the disconnector is only for DA. if i am converting DA/SA i know i could keep or remove disconnector and it will not effect the SA trigger pull (it does for length of trigger rebound) if am converting SA to DA/SA then i need to have the DA trigger and disconnector. disconnector polishing contributes to the smoothness of the DA pull. the disconnector type also contributes to length of the trigger rebound (short disconnector) and i'm very carefull to use the short disconnector in CZ that has firing pin block. it may or may not work.

  6. you have to try that with slide on. it should not touch the sear. you have to back off your overtravel screw until the hammer and sear doesn't touch when you rock the hammer back and forth while pressing your trigger.

  7. recoil is same plus you could hold CZ higher. 2011 grip size smaller.. Yeah if you have $$$$$ go for SV. Else CZ works well too. i get less gun issues with CZ than 2011. plus if you use non sv mag in 9mm... it's expensive and problematic. CZ you can forget about your gun and focus on shooting.
