  1. I too am struggling with this issue. I am new to the practical shooting sports, but not knew to guns, I absolutely loved firing my M-16 in the military yet I cannot for the life if me understand where this flinch comes from. I have tried keeping my front sight steady and focusing on trigger pull, but it seems the more concerned about my accuracy I am the more I flinch, when I'm just running and gunning I'm okay... oh wise ones, please help!

  2. This is great info, I just bought one during the holidays from a guy who got it already to shoot limited and never went out. I was a little apprehensive at first casue I'm a fairly new competition shooter, but all I've seen for limited guns around me have been $2,500 guns and up. All the guts have been replaced with Wilson and it has the Dawson magwell. It also came with 3 barley used Dawson mags, which I like a lot, but I'm told Dawson no longer make them. I did add Dawson Basepads and I know there was an aftermarket trigger added. Trigger breaks around 2.75 or so, but it feels great. I'm new to gun tuning so it's by far the best gun and trigger I've ever owned. I was running a base model witness match before I found this one, but I think I will stick with the Para for a bit.

  3. Curious about this mag well, is this the one from Canyon Creek?

    Dave,

The other part of the reason for no slide stop release is that most people play in the Limited and Open division with these guns. The gun is always kept topped off while shooting. In these divisions, a shooter's plans has gone dramatically awry if they are shooting the gun dry.

I play in the Limited 10 division. Most people think I'm a masochist for playing in the L-10 without a slide stop on my Witness Match. I've discovered that with the slide stop installed, I ride my support thumb on it. Instead of the advantage of having additional recoil control, I actually end up driving the gun to the right. In theory, I can train my way out of it, but it was easier simply to not to have it there. The other side benefit for me is that I really have to plan my reloads well.

    Here's my baby:

  4. Hey guys just found out we are moving to Wiesbaden, Germany and from what I've been able to gather on the internet and hear say from my buddies... unless you are a very rich... no guns and/or shooting sports for you! I also read that in order to possess a firearm for sport, it almost takes an act of God. So how about it, is it true? Are there any German shooters here on the boards? Would love to hear from you guys as well.

  5. Okay guys, what holsters are you running for limited and/or open? Are you modifying them in anyway to fit? Have you found speed rigs that fit this gun from the factory? I been looking around and I have heard mention of CR Speed with modification, ghost holster with modification and Blade Tech for Elites with no rail. Is this all there is and if so what mods are you using to make them fit correctly? Thanks is an advance!

  6. They are very popular at gun shows and websites and such... not all but most experiences wit them go like this...

    1. I just bought my brand new [Fill in tactical rifle]...

    2. I didn't save up enough money for a quality optic made by [Fill in optic brand]...

    3. Oh look there goes a scope that looks just like the [Fill in previously mentioned optic]...

    4. I will use this [Fill in NCStar model] just until I have enough to get the real thing...

    5. I am really disappointed in the performance of this [Fill in NCStar model] even though I knew it only cost [Fill in the ridiculously low price of] so I will get on [Fill in favorite forum or website] and create a post and let everyone else know what kind [Fill in favorite expletive] of product this is...

Then the cycle stars over once more with someone new!!!!!

A lot of us have even been there before

  7. I really wish EAA didn't have the exclusive rights to importing the Tanfoglio line! In Europe Tanfoglio has great customer service and go out of their way to please the customer. you can order "tuned" mags from their custom shop but here in the US we have to deal with a supplier that doesn't want to put forth the effort of even having compitant smith's to assist in bettering the product. Here we are left to figure it out for ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I love the Tanfo I have, just wish we had more tech support! The only tech support for us is this forum! Thank you Brian E!

indeed, thanks to all who contribute to this board, without you guys I would be really regretting my purchase!

  8. Trigger pull out of the box is pretty good, IMHO they feel less "chunky" than the several CZ's I've dry fired (I know a lot of people like to compare the EAA's to CZ's comparison).

As for mags you can run CZ75B mags with a spacer foam taped to the back of it. I know it sounds ghetto but they feed good and the MecGar CA75B mags I bought were $19.99 as opposed to $35 for the EAA mags (that don't feed very good at all).

Is it on the consumer to get the new EAA mags or is EAA swapping out mags/followers? Reason I ask is, when I ordered my match in 40S&W, I ordered 2 spare mags and ended up with 3 old ones total.

  9. Define "lower cost" ?

I thought I saw some Hogue wood ones somewhere for $50, but I can't remember which of the billions of gun sites it was on...

Henning has stock walnut grips for the Match for $85. I have them on my match and they work great.

Great point Nealio, my bad guys! I am looking for grips that are sub $100.00 for now. I have also been bouncing around the idea of sanding down the stock grips and using paint and skateboard tape to ge the grip I'm looking for... more to come on that!

  10. Steel targets hate me. Thats all there is to it. I ended up buying an 8" round steel on a tripod kinda mount for about $100 plus shipping. I don't have to set it back up and it is great for draw and fire. I need to take it to matches with me because it has not told the other steel targets how good I am. ????

    thanks,

    George

Tell me about it bro, as soon as I start missing the steel, my entire day goes to crap!

  11. I have the surefire timer and actually followed around the RO at one of hour matches, using the RO's as the primary I can only recall my iphone being, slightly off once, other than that it was dead on. I did find however it is best to keep the mic pointed directly at the shooter.

  12. Awesome thanks for your help guys, I am going with the .40 SW and I will also look into those high cap mags. I did join a local club here and all these guys run the open race guns and I'm just not ready for that yet! I was going back and fourth about production and limited and have decided on limited for the mag capacity.
