  1. Hey, those things have a variety of uses...the box even says so! :D

While you are in the girly-girl lipstick, fingernail polish, and hairspray isle might want to check out those orange wood stick used to push cuticles back. They also have a variety of uses. Strong and the chisel tips are great and don't mar the finish.

Just got an idea...will try this to clean the BCG on an AR, the wooden ones may not work but I've seen ones made of metal.

  2. when I first bought my Gen 4 G17, I was having problems with FTE. it came with 0-4-2 metal RSA. I read on the internet to leave the slide locked open for a couple of days to help break-in the springs. This plus I raised the PF on my reloads to 130ish and it fixed the problem.

  3. Glock has a new style ejector that is being installed in all 9mm and .40 pistols. Started about the first of October. If you have the old style ejector in a G4 Glock you must ship it to Glock for the upgrade on their dime.

To take that one step further. Glock is now shipping ejectors to certified armorers...thank god. :)

Called them earlier today and that was what they told me they were now doing.

it should have been this way in the first place, they must have realized that it is costing them a lot of money to pay for the round trip overnight shipping.

  4. bought a Gen 4 Glock 17, came with the new RSA but had to send it back to get the new ejector installed. Having a problem with erratic ejection, brass hitting me on the face.

Same here, just picked it up a week ago. I actually felt a difference in the recoil impulse from 2 range rental guns (a gen 3 and a gen 4 G17 with factory ammo). It is interesting how the ejection pattern on the brand new G17 I purchased pretty much sprayed all over including into my face a few times. Then, when I put in my 133pf handloads, that problem disappeared. I could have put a 5 gallon bucket and caught all of the casings to my 4:30 position with my hand loads.

Mine was the opposite, when I ran 120PF the brass ejection was more consistent. With 130PF it was all over the place. Anyway, today I got my lower back from Glock (10 day turn around) with the new ejector installed. Will get to test it this week end.

  5. I think you nailed it, till you shoot it you just don't know for sure.

2 months ago I got my first open gun, no holes. I waited til after 3k rounds then I decided I needed the holes. I recently had a local gunsmith put 3 holes and was returned to me on the day of a match. With same load/ammo, shooting style and no practice getting used to the holes, it helped me speed up my 2nd shots. It worked for me. YMMV

8.0 3N37 PF 170 before, 8.0 3N37 PF 168 after. Just want to share my experience...

  6. Phone or e-mail us, and please include your address-we'll mail an alignment tool and instructions. Be aware this adjustment is only for aligning the shellplate over the primer. It has nothing to do with the snapping. That is usually from running the shellplate bolt too loose. How old is your 650?

I just got my brand new 650, is there any other way in reducing the "snapping" aside from what I read here in the forum to cut the detent ball spring half a coil? I did that already and it's still a little bit snappy. Dont' want to cut anymore of the spring. Shellplate is snug and smooth no wobble.

I'm loading for 9 major which gets the case almost filled to the top. What I do now is after I charged the case I place a bullet head on top of the case before indexing it next to the seater die to prevent spills.

    thanks...

  7. Take the shellplate off. One possibility is the shellplate bolt set screw wasn't tight and the shellplate bolt tightened up as you used it.

The shell plate bolt lock screw is located on the left side of the ram. You have to raise the ram/shell plate to see it. The shell plate bolt is right hand thread, clockwise to tighten, and the shell plate moves clockwise so as you were loading the shell plate might have snugged down the bolt. If this turns out to be the case, make sure that you tighten the shell plate bolt lock screw after you readjust the shell plate. If you are unsure on how to adjust the shell plate for minimum wobble PM me and I'll explain.

just set up my 650 this week-end, this happened to me too, til I finally figure it out...forgot the set screw.
