  1. The Labrador is huge compared to the Garmin.  It is also, according to things I have read, finicky about aim and trigger event.  The Garmin is so small and was very easy to use.  There seem to be a lot of Labradar units for sale right now.  eBay has like 10 on there now.

  2. I have one.  Tested so far at an indoor range.  Worked like a charm.  Did 7 10 shot stings of different loads.   Never had a Chrono before and it seemed to support my thoughts on my ammo.  They are very hard to find in stock right now but seem to be available for backorder.

33.42 Oz - Pretty hefty - Feels Good

Does it make me better? - I think I may be beyond help.  When I screw up it is all me.

  4. Those look identical to the ones that came with my marvel unit 1.  The funny part is that I only use the gsg ones in my conversion.  The gsg mags are a little skinny but marvel has a shim they make.  All their stuff is now sold through frerking gun works.  I do not use the shims but I was having problems with the mags falling out of my frame.  I put a new mag release in and they stay in place now.  I have 6 of the gsg mags and they all work great.

  5. I really wanted one.  I was stocking up on magazines and was planning on selling my P-07 once I bought one.  Then I wanted to start shooting carry optics.  Bought a P-10 F.  Then I bought a PCC.   Now I sold my CZ's and bought a G34 MOS so magazines all are Glock.  Since you cannot compete with a DWX in any USPSA Division besides A fudgecicle nobody but a few crayon chewers and winder likkers want or open minor I am not sure if I would buy one anymore.  I do have a Dan Wesson Pointman 9 and it is my favorite gun.  I did shoot SS with it for a few years.  With 50+ year old eyes and limited competition opportunities due to work I like red dots.

  6. I also run a unit 1 and I really like it.  I use the GSG magazines and I only load 9 rounds per mag.  However I am very new to steel challenge and have only shot it with an optic in 1 match.  I have shot thousands of rounds at the range.  I am B in PCC and RFRO and made C in RFPO in the 1 match I shot.  Hope to make B this weekend if I can.

  7. I thought the A01 specifically took the P09 mags.  I have the springer precision base pads on my P 10/P09 mags and they are nice.  I did not replace the follower so I can only get 21-22 rounds in them.

  8. What is interesting is the circle on the Holosun 507.  For steel challenge it sort of centers your round plates even though the dot is relatively small.  I have C More's on my rifles and rimfire pistols for steel challenge but I bought a P-10 F and it had a 507 on it.  I sort of like it.

I have a marvel precision unit 1 on a single stack frame.  Not sure of that was what you were referring to.  It is a little blockier than my actual single stack gun and does not fit my ss holster. The marvel mimics a model 41 so the optic does not move with the slide.  That may or may not be what you want either.  Accuracy is incredible I like it a lot but I use mine on steel challenge, not as a uspsa trainer.

How is the reliability of the Marvel unit? I have heard that they a finicky about ammo. Is the CWA accurate? Only problem is you now have to buy the whole gun.

Thanks for your comments. It really helps to talk to someone who owns the products.

My marvel has been great.  I have it setup for sv ammo and it has run on quite a few different brands.  However I really only run it on cci sv since I have a ton of it and if I need more it is available.  You just have to keep it clean and make sure the recoil rod/screw is tight.  In use the gsg metal magazines and they wobble a little in the frame but seem to be fine.  Initially when I put the unit 1 on my ria frame the mags were giving me problems.  I swopped the mag release for a new one and I think it sat a little higher and was not rounded and the mags are now staying in place correctly and not falling out.  Marvel/fcw guns has shims for the gsg mags to make them a bit tighter.  Mine work fine so I have not tried them.

  11. Had a 6 stage match with the new barrel.  I shot 3 matches with the stock barrel and this was my 4th.  I am a low B in RFRO and was .13 seconds from a low B with the PCC.  I was able to shave 3.71 seconds off 5 to go, Showdown and Accelerator.  The rifle definitely felt better and handled more like my 10/22 with the weight reduction.  I did have a little trouble on roundabout. I had 2 stovepipes.   It is possible that with the shorter barrel I am not getting the slide to cycle completely.  I will bump up my charge just a hair and see what happens.  When I test fired the rifle earlier in the week I did also have 1 stovepipe.

I also shot a 3 stage uspsa match earlier in the week.  No stovepipes and the only issue I had was all me.  Failed to engage a target on one stage and failed to take off the safety on another.  Moron.  Stage 1 was perfect.

  12. I sighted in the rifle with the new barrel yesterday.  Recoil was definitely different.  The rifle also moves a bit more but it did not seem hard to bring it back quickly.  I am shooting a steel challenge match this weekend.  The match is 6 stages and I need .13 seconds to make B classification.  It will be interesting to see what my times look like.
