  1. Yeah, this mount/optic will be dedicated. I just know there are like 4 diff versions of the PEPR and just wanted to make sure this was the one to get. I'm assuming if OP is making it a combo with the scope, then it should be fine.

    Thanks.

  2. Getting ready to buy an MTAC and I think I want the PEPR mount to go with it.

Optics Planet has a bundle, plus a couple, which I think can make this a pretty good deal. The thing is, I believe there's several PEPR mounts and I just want to make sure I'm buying the right thing.

Is this the PEPR I want?

Included Accessories: 200437-KIT, MTAC 1-4x24mm Riflescope - Ballistic Plex CQ Reticle, w/ Burris AR-P.E.P.R. 30mm QD Mount 410342

  3. dang, sorry guys,

At least the stock notification email works good, you just have to be there to receive it. I also set up a stock alert for Glock 19 mags at Natchez (among other places) and learned they came in stock a week or two ago, but yet I never got even an email.

  4. Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I kinda figured that would start happening. I'd probably need a week or two to move some $$ around, so I'm not looking to buy this week, but perhaps first week or two in Jan. And I'm probably ok just to order via JP directly, as I don't NEED something immediately, either.

  5. Hey guys,

I had planned on getting into the sport in 2013 with the purchase of a rifle later on in the year. Recent events have made me think that I should probably do something sooner rather than later.

I've been doing a little reading and had always thought I'd decide between the Loki and the JP, but now with Loki out of the picture and Colt out with a new rifle, I think those are my two choices now. Unfortunately, I don't have enough experience to know how to compare these very well.

I do have a Colt LE6920 now, so just to be different, I think the JP would be nice. Hear tons of good about them, but I do like the fluted barrel of the Colt, too.

Any huge differences between these two, or would it really be a coin flip situation? The Colt would seem to save a couple hundred maybe, but I just want to make sure I buy right the first time.

Also, I think there are a couple of places that might stock the JP15? Can anyone post a couple sites like that?

    Thanks in advance!

  6. Hey guys,

I've got a Colt 6920 and eventually plan to get a nice 3g rifle. But as of right now, I'm just sorta getting into the sport - I haven't even shot a multigun match yet.

On one of my other forums (non-gun related), a member was asking about AR scopes and said he was replacing his Burris with something nicer. I msg'd him and it turns out he's selling the tac30 in very good condition for $225 shipped. I have been reading the threads here for a while and had been interested in the MTAC, but at $400, I'm not sure its going to be about double the price nicer as the tac30.

Would you guys agree? Any issues at all with starting out on the tac30? Are there any super deals on the MTAC that I'm not aware of?

    Thanks!

  7. I love everything about the gun except that. Thinking about sending mine back but $$ for a new sight and install is a little bit of a bummer when I think about it.

  8. OP, thanks for sharing your story. I, too, have a SP-01 Shadow and have been worrying about the manual decocking. In fact, I've still yet to make it to my first match, but its something I've been a little nervous about because of that.

dlidster, thanks for the tip on releasing the trigger before letting go of the hammer. I'm guessing this is perfectly ok to do it like that since that first pull is still DA? Even if its in the half cocked position? I just tried it and it appears to work great.

  9. Thanks guys - gives me something to think about. When I first looked up the price of the Sevigny set, I was a little bummed as I was hoping to spend less than that. But I guess I'm more about doing this right once rather than doing it in smaller steps twice. Plus, I don't know much much it is to install sights, but I guess if I go with the nice set now, that'll save one install cost from having it do it again later.

Plus I guess I missed the GSSF for this year in my state, so I have some time to save. ;)

  10. I bought a SP-01 Shadow from the CZ Custom shop (the $1200 one) and couldn't be happier with it. I, too, hadn't ever held one, but from everything I had read on them, I decided to take a chance. If you're at all worried, I'd try to find someone at a local club with one that you could at least handle.

That being said, the 75 Shadow seems like a good all around pistol that would work well in IDPA and USPSA. They were just coming out when I got mine, but something about the SP01 just drew me in. If I ever get serious into IDPA, I'll just have to go to the right division, hope that someone gets rid of the weight restriction for the SP01 or maybe better yet just buy a 75 Shadow. :)
