The 26" is pretty small.  Their underbelt is thinner than any other I've seen, which is nice because kid's clothes tend to have small belt loops.

Hi, this link isn't working anymore but I'm curious if anyone knows what model this is.  My 12 year old as a 29 inch waist, so I think most belt manufactorers have a 32" so we're good there, but I think the thinner inner belt is a good idea for those kids belt loops.

  2. Seller ended up traveling over to this side of the state this evening so we'll be meeting up in a couple hours.

$600 agreed upon price.  I almost pulled the trigger on a new m3k freedom for $490 plus $25 shipping but I'm excited to have the Beretta.  I think she's got a couple scrapes here and there but then at least maybe people will think I actually get to shoot alot.  :D

I'm afraid this bodes poorly for your potential 3-gun career.

yes, no doubt.  At least my local range 15 min away does a bunch of multigun stuff.

  4. gun is 24".

Its still available - seller and I are having a hard time getting together as we're 1.5 hrs apart.  I know, not huge but I'm not big on driving.

And....I've also since found the m3k freedom series selling for under $500 delivered.   Again, I think the 1301 is the better firearm, but new would be nice too.  I think the 1301 has some scrapes, but nothing huge.

So thanks for the continued advice and still mulling this over.

If you aren't shooting in matches none of the differences matter really.

Yeah, this is where I struggle.  I might very well never shoot a real match.  They have "fun shotgun" matches up at the local club and that might be a good stepping stone before jumping into multigun.

But I'd hate to save a couple hundred and realize that I should have just bought better now, but then again, I might never even know the difference from what I end up doing.

The Beretta 1301 v1 is excellent and overall a superior gun imho.

I've heard great things about the 1301 comp for years - so I'm trying not to be bugged out by the gen1 designation.  I know plenty of people have done fine with them for quite a while and if the seller had not even said "gen1" in the add, I wouldn't even have known to look up the differences.

  7. hi all, I've been keeping my eye out for a deal on an m3k or 1301 comp for a while ago.  Super casual shooter, really not doing any competitions but would like to someday.

a used 1301 comp came up for sale locally at what seems to be a good price - $650.  Listed as the 2nd owner with about 300 total rounds thru it.  Looks like some scuffs here and there but I guess that's not a huge deal.  However, it was the "gen1" command that caught my eye.

Anything to be aware of with these first gens?

  8. So for those of you saying the Beretta 1301 Comp, do you think its twice at good as the Stoeger M3K, or do you just have no experience with the brand? I really would like the Beretta or Benelli, but my wallet would sure like a $550 M3K. I don't know that I'll ever shoot a multi-gun match, but I would like a sporting shotgun to maybe dip my toes in the sport. I just don't know if I will ever realize the difference spending over a grand on the 1301.

  9. thank you for that. I don't want to say I'm OCD, but that mismatch might bug me a little. Just not sure. I do like the blue tube, and the red follower from MOA looks like, but that greenish bolt handle and release might be a bit much.

Guess you can swap those out, like you did, or just stay black for the tube.....hmm..mmm

  10. Posts like that make me not want to get a VM. I want something that will not be a hassle out of the box.

I'm starting to feel the same. I thought this was the one to get me into the sporting shuotgun area, but I have zero smithing abilities and dont want to get stuck with a big hassle.

  11. Really torn on waiting for this or buying a 26" synthetic and versa tube. I was thinking the 26" might be a little better if I want to go shoot some sporting clays. Would really make the krieghoff and perazzi guys cringe. Any one got a eta on delivery times?

I'm in the same boat. I think when these come out and we get some user options, I'll call Benny or someone and get their price for working over a 26" and see how it compares. Although I just watched a few videos of the new Competition model and I think I'm really digging that green receiver.

I also have a nice (well, for me) O/U on my shopping list, something like the Beretta Silver Pigeon Sporting and yeah, the 26" VersaMax might be able to serve dual purposes to get me by until I can save up for that (a little better than the shorter Competition model)

  12. I have been unable to connect with Tapatalk for the past month or so and yesterday I deleted it and thought maybe re-adding it back might be the kick in the rear it needed. Seems I can't even find this forum now when searching within Tapatalk.

  13. I think Manny, Frank and or Shannon over there would make for a great class. I know they don't have anything scheduled, but I think that they can put something together if we had enough people. Maybe we can get a list of sorts started here.
