  2. I was present when a buddy’s M17 suffered a similar same fate on its very first firing with factory ammo.

Sig stated it was due to an out of spec barrel/chamber and replaced the pistol.

  3. Received my Rival-S back from Century Arms this afternoon - 4 weeks including shipping both ways, which they covered.

They replaced both sets of basepads and installed a new guide rod assembly. The new basepads are thicker and do not allow the magazine to be over inserted. Not sure what weight spring is on the new “H” guide rod but it’s definitely heavier.

No significant change in the over insertion of magazines with extended basepads. I did not expect them to resolve this issue and do not fault them entirely. If I like the pistol and it proves reliable, I’ll pick up Hennings or TFs and carry on.

The new plastic basepads have the same half moon cut out as the aluminum basepads below. New on the left, old on the right.

Not sure if that's the true manufacture date. Yours looks like it has a lower serial number than mine (I'm assuming it was manufactured before mine) and the date on my label is before yours (10/02/2023 so I'm assuming my label printed before yours).

I should have been more clear in my response. The last two digits of the serial number were removed from the photo.

  5. I recently picked up a late May built chrome version and can confirm it too suffers from the over insertion issue. This occurs with both the plastic and aluminum base pads, as well as Henning and TTI extensions.

In my sample size of 1, the magwell prevents over insertion when combined with either of the included base pads. Obviously not a solution for carry optics.

  6. Received an in-stock notification Monday afternoon and immediately purchased one in hard chrome. This morning I received a refund and accompanying email stating that my order could not be filled due to the item being out of stock with no eta.

Multiple places appear to be using the same drop shipper on a first come first serve basis instead of standard allocation of units.

I believe somewhere in the documentation there should be instructions on how to order your 1 plate, free, from Beretta after purchase  - just pick which one for the optic you plan to run. Of so I was told.

Thanks, sfinny. Seems that was the SOP for other RDO cut models. The Carry Optic pistol is supposed to have 2 Toni System plates included in the box. Beretta support advised the same and stated they simply do not have the plates or any idea when they will be available. I’m told I’ve been added to the list to receive the plates but have nothing from them to substantiate that claim.

“In the 92X Performance Carry Optic, plates are included with gun out-of-the-box for end-user configuration of the most popular red-dot optics available in the market today.“

    Included in the box:

    • 2 Magazines with Extended Base Plate
    • 2 Toni System Optic Plates – Compatible with 4 Optics Mounting Patterns*
    • Wrap-Around Grip
    • Speed Loaded
    • CA Compliant Gun Lock
