This has got to be one of the most frustrating things that's come about in IPSC in....well, in IPSC history. I can only imagine how I would feel if I were a gun company executive/owner or such. We've got enough on our hands fighting outside battles with public opinion, legal restrictions, environmental protection issues, and do I have to even mention law suits? We just can't keep changing the rules and slamming doors in the faces of our shooters and sponsors. Some clearly defined requirements need to be set in stone and once a gun is on the list it should remain on the list. Turning coat after the fact is a seriously low blow....
I have enjoyed all the input so far, thanks. All this preaching to the choir has made me hungry, I'll catch y'all later.

The numbers represent the total of the best two out of three placements three nationals before the WS.
I guess that's not including your finish from last year's Nationals.

I'm using 231 right now with 147gr jhp's just because I had a bunch of left over from the .45 days (yes, it's old powder). It's given me some fairly impressive results...

The Shooters Paradise Posse will be there on Saturday. Can't wait....

Some days it just doesn't pay to leave your shell.
K,
That's why I carry mine around with me.
The poor Turtle is gettin crucified on this threadJ,
Thanks for noticing.

I was just pointing out that the thread was supposed to be about "Women We Love" and then I thought it would be funny to say that we should leave our wives off the list and.............................................................oh forget it.
I was just trying to be funny, Patrick. Carry on, men.
-
Who said the women had to be athletes?????
That's just it, I don't remember anyone making any requirements or restrictions. The thread was supposed to be about "Women We Love". It's all about free love, man...
Uhm, no wives please.

If Marla is hot where you come from, remind me never to visit.
Ouch! You could have fired one over the bow before coming at me like that...
O.K., O.K.... how about this female mountain biker....
Check out Tara Llanes here: http://www.tarallanesracing.com/images/med...anha_ad_jpg.htm

Well now Nemo, that is one incredibly impressive list. Since I'm a Mountain-biker-dude, I would have to add Marla Streb to the list to round it out. There's just something about a woman with, well..., impressive physical skills.
See her here... http://www.marlastreb.com/gallery.html

Jake, that's too funny.
Bob, you got the right Thomas.
Duane, you cleared it up. I think I know where you were coming from now.

Todd

Who's on the cover of this one? It'll probably be a while before I get mine...

I'd like to add the extended mag/slide release to a G22. Please tell me why it's legal and where I can go to see the final official word.
Splash,
I think it's more of a "innocent until proven otherwise" situation. The extended slide and mag release are Glock O.E.M. parts and are not specifically prohibited, so they're legal, as are the factory base pads for the Beretta and (now the new) CZ.

Todd

Welcome aboard Boo,
For what it's worth, I voted "no" in the poll, just because it was the first answer that popped into my head. That doesn't mean it actually can't be done, it was just my opinion at the time the thread opened. Everybody's entitled to their opinion guys, including Boo. I don't think he's calling anyone a liar or trying to disrespect anyone. Even Thomas needed to stick his hand into the wounds....
I am a hockey fanHockey, what's that? Oh, you mean the activity formerly known as the professional sport of hockey.
No offense Boo, I couldn't resist. Nice avatar, by the way.
Duane,
How is shooting an El Prez with minor ammo (and production gear) less impressive? The scoring penalty makes it tougher in my book. Unless of course, you're counting any hits. I can't wait to go back to major scoring one day.

Todd

Flex brings up a very good point. Shooting is mostly a visual/mental skill, not just raw mechanics. That's not to say that dry firing to improve your gun handling mechanics is not very important, because it is. So, take your pick: gun, target, or gun and target. I "dry fire" all the time without a gun. I'm training my vision because I can only shoot A's as fast as I can see them.

Like Matt and Phil said, they have to be factory pads and they cannot increase mag capacity. That's why the Glock factory +2 pads are not legal.

Shocking news, and very sad. Steve will be remembered as a great shooter and a wonderful guy. My prayers are with his family and close friends. Thank you for sharing this hard news.

Passports must be valid for 6 mo to enter Ecuador
Whoa! I didn't know that....could be a problem for me then...

I'm about to start reloading for my CZ75 IPSC std, 40 S&W for limited (major, I hope). Anybody out there have any suggestions for an OAL to try? I'm not sure how long a cartridge will fit in the magazines. Should I just start with the longest that will fit in the mags and see if they will function in the gun? I will be using MG 180 gr CMJ's and Titegroup. Thanks.
Just be sure the bullet is not contacting the rifling. Let us know what you come up with for a max COL, thanks.
Carlos, what say you?

So I guess the new platform is to your liking? Thats an awesome run...
Thanks Matt, yah, the gun's fine. I feel that it's got a lot to offer for the Production shooter, but now more than ever I believe that it's shooter. We've all heard it and said a hundred times before but I believe it and I feel it now! Hope to see you on the range soon bro...
Just so I'm clear, it's at 10 yards, right?Yep...10 yds, back to targets & wrists above shoulders too.

I did a 4.36 w/ 8-alphas & 4-charlies yesterday with my CZ-85. That's only 1.37 seconds away from winning this contest.
And yes Skipper, I was consistantly in the mid to high 4's with my hits (not always pretty ones though), how 'bout that. I guess there is something to be said for reaching for the stars, cause that was by far my best run ever and it was too cold out for my taste to boot.
Good luck guys.

What about movie phone? Wait, I don't know if he actually made any money at that. "...well why don't you just tell me the movie you want to see..."

You should have seen her last weekend showing her 22 year-old male cousin how to "slice the pie" upon entering a room.
You got to love kids!

That's awesome Sam, you know they have a .22LR conversion for the 75/85 as well right? It's called the Kadet. I can't say much about it as I haven't tested it yet, but it looks pretty sweet and I'd love to get my hans on one. I just have to wait a bit. It's on my "things to beg for:" list.

Thanks a lot guys! I am totally stoked and ready to enjoy this new season.
And mcoliver, I'm still a newbie at CZ but the best I can tell, the 85 Combat (vs. the 85B) has an overtravel stop for the trigger and NO firing pin block safety. And BTW, a huge "Thank You" to Angus Hobdell for all his help and support, what a great guy!

Phil,
I'm quite certain that Nik is correct and the phrase you pasted is from the "new" and recently modified gun list. It seems that he even has the paper trail to prove it...
