You may want to stay away from CCI 450's; the new ones anyway. Had 18 out of hundred fail to fire; Emailed CCI they said basically it's all my fault as usual but they failed to fire in any rifle or revolver. I have 10 357 magnum revolvers, 4 357 magnum rifles and one 300 Blackout rifle and they failed to fire in all of them. I have loaded 192,075 rounds in 33 years these were the first primers I ever used that would not fire in anything.
Hmmm, I have 6000 of them I was about to start tying in 38 Super comp. Maybe I'll start with 100 and see, not sure why they'd fail when the 400's work just fine. What did they tell you?

Short stroke, sticky powder bar? Fine powder can leak and cause the bar to stick sometimes. What powder are you using? Have you tried cleaning the powder measure setup?
VV 3n38. which is prety fine. I need to take it off and troubleshoot.

Newish 650, couple years old loading 38SC. This just started happening; every 6-8 rounds powder drop is a grain or more light. Just trying to figure out what I should start checking. I load on another 650 and a 1050, so I'm not new to this, just have not seen this problem. Thanks in advance.

I have never used anythig but small rife primers in my open guns since the early 90s.

This happens to me with 38SC even after I roll size them in a Case Pro, it's the rim, I wish I could get a push through die like I have for 40 S&W.

I'm new to reloading and before I knew what I was doing I bought:
2000 Speer CPRN 115gr1000 Hornady HAP 115gr
What are these best used for? Should I save them for something in particular? Or sell them to someone who has a particular need for them? I paid about 12 cents/bullet delivered.
I'm looking to move to polymer coated bullet (Precision, Black, Blue bullets, etc) for practice and competition (around 7 cents per, delivered) and wondering if I should shoot up my existing 115 stuff first, or move to poly bullets now and repurpose the 115 for something else.I have been desperately searching kfor HAP 115's I shoo them in 38 SC. What are you looking for, I might have something to trade.

I run all three mags, 170,155 and 140. Which one I use depends on what the stage is. I find I use the 140 and 155 on any stages where I will have to do a reload (over 30 rounds.). If there is no reload then it's the 170 for the stage. I don't think there is any benefit having a 155 over a 170. I have two of each in my bag and use what ever works with the stage.
Ditto, I have 2 170s, 2 155s, and 4 140s.

Shoot a DPP with dark polarized prescription sunglasses, no problem at all.

I'm curious how the newer style shorties with the metal grips compare to the full size with a polymer grip. Or does it make that big of a difference. I noticed ck is selling a shorty now and am kind of interested
I shoot a SVI steel gripped mid length gun with a TI comp and 6 45 Degree holes. Love the way it balances and shoots.

I felt an sv aggressive this weekend... very nice. Just as grippy as my pt. But felt slimmer? Way better in the hand
Wish I had that as an option when I had my gun built.
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkSv is slimmer?. I have a gun built on an SV grip and love it. I have PT EVO and was going to build another off of it, but I’m concerned it will be too different.

I do want to try 3N38 and 3n37, from what I've read throughout the forums, 3N37 may work best for a 5" gun with no popples.
I shot 3n37 forever (early 90s) switched to 3n38 and 115s last year and love it. Definitely softer. Only issue us the case is pretty full. I’m shooting 10.4 with an OAL of 1.242. Gun is a mid length with 6 popples.

I made the same switch in May last year, had a new gun built in SC but had another that I bought used that was built for Super, it was having occasional feeding issues. Switched to SC and no more issues. My 1050 which was set up for Super since the early 90s needed a little tweaking but other than that all is good.

I’m new to open. Trying ddp out first i like em but the on /off button is the only thing i don’t care for.
I turned my DPP on when I first started shooting it in June 2017. I have not turned it off or adjusted the brightness since. . . . . Or changed the battery. It has been shoot pretty much every weekend since then.

I haven’t turned mine off since I started shooting it in June. 6000-7000 rounds, no issues at all.

rifle primers in place of pistol magnum primers
in 9mm/38 Caliber

I have always (since the early 90's) used small rifle primers in my major 38 supercomp loads (lately CCI 400s). I'm about to start trying CCI 450 small magnum rifle primers, I'm hoping they also work just fine.
