  1. How would you rate it's wear and rust properties compared to say, duracoat or ceramicoat?

I have not used those two products, but I did look at the before I chose this one. Duracoat is paint. It is not oven-cured so I can't imagine it'd be durable at all. Ceracote and other oven-cured products are, from what I understand, very similar to Moly Resin.

I can say this--once this stuff is cured, it's very difficult to remove, even with a sandblaster. I expect it to wear well.

Supposedly moly resin is more rust resistant than hard chrome. That's really what I'm hoping for--good corrosion properties.

I wouldn't call this product a substitute for hard chrome, but it is a lot less expensive and offers what appears to be similar protection from the elements. It doesn't look as nice as hard chrome and probably won't last as long, but it's one option among many.

Cerakote is by far the strongest coating on the market. I have used Moly resin, Dura Coat, KG and a couple others and nothing comes close to Cerakote. You got to use the Oven cure Cerakote. There air dry is desent, but not as good as the oven cure. Cerakote got independent testing done between KG, Dura Coat and Cerakote and Cerakote came on top. Cerakote is also easy to apply. Its so easy a monkey could do it. LOL

  2. I ordered a case of Montana Gold 230gr CMJ. They are more dough than LSWC or LRN but I'm looking forward to clean living... er... I mean, clean shooting!

Is this right? $170.00 per 1,000 for 230gr FMJ? Thats crazy. I just went to order a case myself and about fell out of my chair.

  3. I have wanted to try these in my revolver for steel. Not sure how they would work in an Auto though. You would definitely have to use a much lighter recoil spring. A 12-14lb would work.

You don't have to lighten up your loads for shooting at Steel Matches. We run our regular loads at the matches we go to. No problems at all.

  4. i'm a proud oddball. left handed but right eye dominant. like most lefties i do a few things with my right hand. i throw frisbee with my right and i shoot bow right handed. when i grew up i learned to shoot bow right handed in boy scouts because they didn't have any left handed bows :angry2: as i grew older i found out my left eye is very slightly lazy. it is not and cannot be corrected to 20/20. my right eye on the other hand is slightly better than 20/20. this is what prompted my switch with pistol first, and then with rifle. i knew i was never going to be as good as i could be if i was shooting with my lazy eye so i saw little choice for myself. to make the switch i started off by buying a right handed holster. every single day i wore that holster with a gun in it for at least two months. i drew the gun and pointed it at various objects around my house to practice the feel of it and get used to the new sight picture. after about a month it became really comfortable. it was frustrating at first but you can definately get used to going lefty with enough practice. borrow or buy a lefty holster if you can and practice practice practice. if you find you hate it, it's a really easy switch back. much luck.

    Hello,

I shoot left handed with a pistol but I am right eye donimant. i have been shooting with my left eye, but my left eye don't work as good as my right. Will it hurt anything for me to shoot left handed but use my right eye? Is there anything wrong with that? Does any of the pros do that. I have been shooting the speed steel matches and I love it. Any information would be great.

    Thank you
