  1. loading 223. Lake city brass. Cci primers #41. Ramshot TAC powder Dilon 550 b

Loaded up some test for my new ar

Some fired great. Others did not fire primer cup was dented ok. So I thought ..no powder

Got back home and weighed the two duds...they had powder

Only thing I can think of is too much lube over the primer inside the case...I kinda sprayed too much ..dillon case lube

Could that have caused a dudd???

    Thanks

  2. Bayou Bullets are great. Very consistent in weight and very accurate. And like others have said, Donnie is a great guy to deal with.

Agree with bayou. They are GreAt. And the green color is a plus. I loaded over 1000 without any gloves and no lead on my hands.

  3. Thanks all. I am going to stick with 230 llrn. No issues and runs good. I am nitbsure what type( h &g or ? ) it was. Picked up at grafs just 100 to try. Agree a pita.

    Thanks

Loaded them to 1.24. But had about .15 before break in lead. So hated to load a bunch shorter.

  4. Loaded some lswc in 185 and 230 LRN

230 ran great. Could not get the 185 to load. I could loan individual with the mag in and slide open and they shot great. But would not load from the magazine

    Shooting a springer loaded.

    Any ideas?..

    Thanks

  5. Finally ran out of Montana 230 FMJ. leaning towards a LRN in 230. ( seem to be able to twice as many bullets for same money ).

Anyway. Used VV 320 and 340 Love the stuff

Almost impossible to find a VV load for the 230 LRN.

    Any info would be appreciated

    Shooting a springer 1911. Loaded.

    Blue press.

    Thanks thanks Thanks

  6. I have been reloading 9's for over a year using both 320 and 340

Well I got the bug and purchased a 1911 Springfield loaded 45

Would appreciate any loads you all have worked up using either 320 or 340

    Thanks

I will be using 230 FMJ or jhp. From Montana gold

    Thanks

    Gary

  7. I have 500 MG jhp and some vv 320. I did some searches and some book looking but can't seem to find something that matches.

I used 4.8 of the VV 340 @ 1.14 col and had good results.

But would like to try the 320

    Does anyone have any suggestions.

    Thanks for your input

I use the 320 with MG 147 @ 1.14 and it is sweet shooting

  8. I have been using VV n 340 for about 1000 rounds.

MG 124 JHP. 4.8 gr and 1.14 OAL

Good results. But have been seeing a lot folks using 320 more. Or it seems. I would appreciate everyones thoughts. I was going to buy 4 pounds of 340. But have second thoughts and may try 320 ???

So advice please from those who know. Thanks

  9. It's hard to say given that we don't know exactly what JHP or case Lyman used. If the bullet for the Lyman data took up more case capacity, and they loaded it to a shorter OAL, that's a big part of the difference. If the case started with less capacity (they're all a little different) that would account for a bit more of the difference. The other thing is we need to know the pressure that Lyman went to on that load. Throw in the fact that every test barrel is slightly different and we've got enough variables that it's really difficult to be certain why they got what they got.

Typically, I tend to favor the data from the powder manufacturer over that of a bullet manufacturer, but that's not an absolute. For Montana Gold JHPs, data for Hornady XTPs is usually pretty close as they're similar in profile. R,

  10. in Lyman 49th edition 115JHP start load 4.5 max 5.0 OAL 1.090

on the V V website load data Hornandy 115 HP-xtp start load 5.2 max 5.9 with OAL at 1.142

what gives i am a new reloader with a dilion 550 and am confused please help ...thanks..

i am using federal primers and remington 115 JHP but will be buying Montana Golds tomorrow...thanks
