  1. SSS starts a production run when they get a bunch of orders from their wholesale customers.

No, we start a production run when the machine schedule allows it, we have numerous products that we make for us and other companies and sometimes we have to wait as well. But our stuff gets a nudge now and then..... :)

  2. The shooter is DQ'ed not the gun because it didn't do anything wrong. If you spend the money to travel to a big match and DQ then hopefully that will reinforce the lesson and you'll learn from it before somebody gets hurt, if you don't then your hobby just got a little more expensive for you. I know shooters that have been doing this for a number of years and have never DQ'ed but I also know a couple that have DQ'ed several times, why they keep doing the same thing over and over I'll never know but it happens. Let's not try to read too deep or interpret things that aren't there, it's been like this since the early days for a reason. I'm not saying we should never change anything but this is a safety issue and it's there to keep us from getting hurt.

  3. Is there a heavier tungsten guide rod for the 5" Pro than the one offered by Speed Shooters? I'm switching from my XD 5.25 and the rod I put in that made a huge difference in the feel of it. The XD tungsten rod is solid and weighed in at 4.1oz while the speed shooters rod is hollow and only 1.30oz. I would like to get a good bit heavier, are there any other options?

Elizabethtown? I just came back from Knob Creek  Do you have one of our guide rods or did you get that info from somewhere? Reason I ask is none of the guide rods we make, stainless or tungsten, are hollow. I don't remember the exact weight but I'm pretty sure it's more than 1.3 oz.

  4. A 140mm extension is not legal in Production but if you're looking for a replacement basepad we make one that is Aluminum and is legal for Production, it doesn't add any capacity and fits the box.

    Are we talking about these?

And that brings up another point...I'm guessing that these are legal for IDPA ESP with the ESP magwell AND are legal for USPSA Production but you can't use the ESP magwell. Am I correct?

Those are the ones. And you're correct on the second point.

  5. It would depend on the ammo, if you're using a factory velocity type ammo use a 15# but if you're using a lower power factor ammo in the 130-ish range use a 13#. Either way, be sure you run enough of the same ammo through it to be sure it runs 100%.
