  1. Just got off the phone with John Amidon.Nobody is going to get DQ'd for unbagging at your car. Make sure you have a chamber flag if the gun is not going to be bagged. I have unbagged my long guns at every Nationals at my car to put them in my cart. I plan to do it this time also.

Also, a loaded shotgun shell is not a chamber flag!

Just to clarify, the ROs were told yesterday that this applies to long guns only, handguns must be cased and uncased at safe areas or under supervision of RO. Long guns can be removed from case at vehicle provided a chamber flag is properly inserted.

  2. A good friend made A in Limited with a G20 and a .40 conversion barrel. He upgraded to an SVI in June 2011, but he still likes the G20. He liked the larger frame fit in his hands and the lack of recoil due to the massive slide. His YouTube channel has many videos of him shooting the G20. I am not able to post links, so you will have to go to YouTube and search for user "dagger10k" and look for his videos from before June 2011.

    Pfft.. he is Master now=)

He is a Master now (congrats James!!), but he made M with the SVI. He made A with the G20.

  4. Shot this yesterday in Production (G34): 8.13s, 52pts, (8A, 2B, 2C), for a hit factor of 6.3961. CmCalc puts that run at 79%, I'm not so sure about it being that high. I think I can do a little better, I had a slight bobble on the reload and left some points up.

  5. Zvi, welcome to BrianEnos.com. :)How did the Tek-Lok come into this? I don't see it mentioned in the OP's post. In any event, if you look at the design of the locking mechanism on that piece of equipment, I'd say the chances of it ever coming off accidentally once the "lock" is closed is, well, zero.

Either I'm going crazy, or he edited his post. Most likely, I'm crazy.

I only said that about the tek-lock because the one I had came loose during a match. It was my fault because I did not have it put on right, but I KNOW my belt

slide is on right and will not come off.

I'm not the smartest guy in the world, so that probably won't happen to many other people.

Yes, I did edit the OP so you aren't crazy. (At least not by that measure). Thanks for the advise, but I like the tek-locks for my current single belt setup. I edited the post because I just went ahead and ordered 2 more mag pouches. I already have a Blade-Tech holster and double mag pouch with the tek-locks, so I ordered one more with the tek-lock and one without. I'll see which I like better. I agree that it would be very difficult to get the locking mechanism open if the locking tab is closed, I think the plastic would break first (a belt loop would break too with the same amount of force). Therefore I have confidence in the tek-lock system until proven otherwise.

  6. Hello,

I recently bought a used G17 with the intent of getting into action shooting. I took the USPSA Safe Handgunner class at the Richmond Rod and Gun Club in Richmond, CA on Saturday. I had a blast and I'll be back for more. Bill L. was an excellent instructor and I learned a lot. I'm hoping I will be able to shoot my first match there in April.

I shot a GSSF match today at YSA in Davis and had a great time. It was a great learning experience. I was unhappy with my 3 mikes, but I still met my goal of placing in the upper half of the division according to the preliminary results. I need to slow down and get a better sight picture; I dropped lots of time on M's and D's.

I hope to meet some of you out at the range sometime.

    Regards,

    Zvi Davidoff
