  1. I have a 550 that I bought in the early 90's. Every now and then, when it gets to feeling a little tight when I pull on it, I take it down and clean and lube it. I don't have to do it very often but have done it a few times or so. My question is: I have some lateral play in the crank, link arm pivots and pins top and bottom. Holding onto the pull handle I can move it about halfway down and I can wiggle it laterally quite a bit. When the shell-plate is up it will rotate maybe 1/4 of an inch or more. Is this normal for an older machine, will it affect loading tolerance on ammo? I am thinking I may need a few new parts to get it back to being tight again. I haven't loaded any ammo since the last clean and lube so I won't know how any ammo would shoot with this looseness. Any opinions will be welcome. Thanks!
  2. What about same powder from different lots?
  3. I have read in more than one place to keep a Dillon 550 powder measure 3/4 full. I have also seen it mentioned not to mix powders even of the same lot. So how to keep 3/4 full without adding powder?
  4. Thanks for the info. I am just loading .223 for paper killin, no precise shooting, so it would probably not make much difference. Or I guess I could mix it all together and then start loading. I havent started loading yet.
  5. Dillon says keep the powder measure with plenty of powder in it. My question is this: I have my powder in one pound containers. Is it ok to mix THE SAME powders together? When the powder measure starts getting low is it ok to fill it up using THE SAME powder or are different lots not good to mix? Thanks!
  6. I don't know why people keep comparing the 550 to the LnL. They are just price comparing. Should be comparing the 650 to the LnL. So what that the 650 cost is more. That is just the way it is. Sometimes I pay more for a product because I like it. Sometimes I don't. But when I look at any product I'm looking at features I want not just price.
  7. Thanks Sarge. You gotta be da man with the same last name as me! I also was in the Army bout a hundred years ago.lol
  8. Hi all, I have seen on a couple threads op talking about getting samples for different bullets. How do you get samples? I would like to try both MG and Zero but do not want to have to buy a huge amount until I know what I want for my G22. Thanks Z

    G22 sticky mag

Hi everyone, great forum! I have a G22 and the mag is hard to remove. After pressing the release I have to pull fairly hard to get it out. If someone tried to shoot comp with it they would be pretty slow lol. Is there some way to loosen it up? I have two factory mags and both are the same. Thanks for any help! Z
  11. New here but have been lurking for awhile. This is a great forum. Just getting back into reloading after being out for a bit. Thanks Z
