  1. At the moment I less concerned about a match a year from now than I am about getting info for a National match that is happening in few weeks.

    This

    366 rounds. 18 stages.

3 day shoot. 1/2 day format.

Registration some point on Wednesday. Somewhere in Tulsa.

Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 4

That's the definitive kind of info I like to see three weeks before a NATIONAL match.

  2. His website didn't say closed when I opened it. Just yesterday I received an open gun from him. It wasn't the quality of work I have gotten from him with the other two guns he built for me.

  3. Hi,

I want to thank all those people involved in putting on the Area and National matches, THANK YOU! you gals and guys are doing the work 98% of us don't want to do or don't have the time to do it. And your spending way to much of your own money to do those mostly un-thanked jobs. Volunteering is one thing servitude is another and no compensation for your HARD work is unforgivable. If the 98% are not willing to work, than they should be willing to pay the way of those that are. I save all year to attend the Nationals it is a great match. If it where to cost another $100 I would not go out to dinner two more times during the year and pay it, no problem.

THANK YOU gals and guys again you do a great job! and I can't wait to shake your hands again and tell you that face to face! Because you make this sport FUN for me.

Well said and greatly appreciated John. I have decided to shoot both matches next year instead of working. Honestly, I will feel guilty and a little selfish for doing so, but I have absolute faith someone from this thread will take my place. Who's it gonna be?

  4. Update on my situation:

Erik did contact me today through a text. I'm not going to post the entirety of it here, but to paraphrase... He feels bad about the way his business ended, but problems with the ATF, his business partner, and his suppliers caused the situation we are all in now.

Seeing how they have been conducting business for the last several months, I can't see him feeling too bad. Just sayin

  5. Im new to this sport having only been shooting for three years. In that time I have worked two Handgun Nationals and one Multigun Nationals. I feel I have enough experience now to make the following statements.

Every stage I have ever worked at a Nationals match had just enough staff to run it. The "compensation " is the furthest thing from the definition of the word. Its a money losing proposition EVERY trip I have made.

I have good news though. Those that are complaining about how it is currently done are VERY welcome to volunteer their time and resources to USPSA next year to help offset the "over spending".

  6. It semms like no one is talking about Benny Hills brake anymore. I have his brake on my Fal , and it is amazing. Is this brake considered old school in the AR word?

They may not be talking about them but they sure keep buying them. Still a very popular brake and works as well or better than anything out there. The .30 version turns a .308 ar into a pussy cat.-----------Larry

Works equally as well with 300 Blackout.

  7. I use a 10# recoil spring. The sights track better with my 147gr load.

    :surprise:

As big as you are and your shooting those girlie 147 :roflol:

C'mon Corey, you gotta know bigger is better. That includes da boolits!! :)

  8. I am using J&K's 147gr lead bullets without issue and WITH excellent accuracy. We had to do a couple of things to make it work in the CZ, but they are extremely accurate now without any tumbling. I also use WST.

  9. To say this match was challenging is an understatement. I learned a lot at this match about risk vs. reward. A lesson I THOUGHT I had already learned. Seven mikes and three noshoots later, I have definitely learned it again.

This was a very well run and constructed match. We finished ahead of schedule both days and beat the rain that came in on Sunday. One of the stages had enough RO's to reset all the props which made less work for the shooters. Around half of the RO's weren't using the proper range commands and that can be a bit frustrating at times. On two stages, full diameter barrel strikes were given to the competitors as hits instead of mikes.

Squad 17 was the best squad I have EVER shot with!! They were a great group of guys, everybody worked hard and one of the wives took excellent care of us as the squad mom.

Overall, this was an OUTSTANDING match that is a must shoot for me next year.
