  1. "She" was pretty honest but not 100% correct. Sizing die could just not be adjusted low enough as opposed to out of spec. BUT, I also had problems with Dillon die not sizing enough and run Udie exclusively. AND, udies are also used to prevent bullet setback not just help with chambering. In my opinion LEE dies are better than Dillon and they are way cheaper. I have a LEE standard die that also seemed to prevent bullet setback but I just stuck with the udie. Regardless of the die you wind up with, make sure it is just kissing the shell plate, not backed off like recommended. And get some Dillon lube or make your own.
I may be missing something. How does a crimp die leave a ring that far down the case? All you are doing is removing the flair for seating.

  2. Indoor range today to test new mags. Ran very well, absolutely no problems. Brass was not scared or beaten up. None of the mags held the slide open which is no problem. Just passing that along. Loads were 147 gr zero JHP to OAL 1.165 over 3.2grs of Tightgroup.

  3. I have one of the new ones. Never paid it much attention as it has ran great. About 500 Rds through it so far.

Now that you mention it, it is a little sharp on the edges of the feed lips.
Take a look at your fired brass. Mine looked like it had made many trips to the range. Really scratched up. It would chamber, but paid a price.

  4.
    thank.
friend ordered same gun dvc limited  .problem was only with magazines that he ordered separately from the gun.
I just finished stoneing the edges. All are smooth. Range trip will give the results. All the practice rounds chamber. Not a sure thing, just an indicator. Test drive soon.

  5. I have loaded 147 bayou coated bullets. They mic at 357 and cause me problems putting enough bell one case. They do make a bulge ring in the case, but plunk. Just do not like the looks of the finished product. I am going to give the 158's a try as I have a pretty good supply of them.

  6. I foolishly assumed after reading several posts stating "ran great out of the box" they had found the magic formula making tinkering, adjusting, bending unnessary to make the gun  run. I have a few more to go, and then back to the range.

  7. Just received some the new STI mags for my STI 9mm DVC. First observations are they are really rough on the brass. Looks like sharp edges on the feed lips are leaving considerable amount of scaring that may or may not polish out. If you don't reload it is a problem for someone else. I polished the edges of the feed lips and that seems to have made a difference. Anyone with similar experience and possible cure, I am more willing to listen.

  8. I have been loading zero 230 fmj 45 over 4.5gr bullseye 126.5 oal. Works fine in a colt1911 and a Sig 220 X6. This load will not chamber in a Sig 1911 Max. Too long. I can load the 230's at 124.5 oal it chambers fine. Anyone see pressure problems with this load?

  9. Comp shooting, but not do or die type. Hobby type, for enjoyment. I have been using a Walther Q5 and a 1911. Blade tech for both. I fell into this gun and it shoots so well, I have to use it. So far, not much luck on 6inch holsters. Friend of mine shoots serious with 226 x5. I am going to try to modify one of his, but not sure it will work. He is using a double stack and mine is a single. Might  work until I can locate one made for the gun.

  10. I have gone through all of the above suggestions. None solved the problem. I have adjusted the clip on station one. Tightened the shell plate, backed it off to the point it turned without binding. Placed a case in station one, raised the ram pushing the case into the die, after I aligned it, loosened the die, relighted the die, no solution. With brass in the shell plate, the shell plate can be turned  just maybe a 32 of an inch, maybe less, the brass will freely load into the die. The movement is free, no resistance, feels like movement on the ball bearing. I have replaced the bearing and the spring with new pieces. No improvement. The plate is flat with no warp. The shell plate is number 1. Switched to 9mm setup, no problems. I'm at a loss. Maybe a Lee sizer/decapper. Any ideas,

    Dillion, any further suggestions? Thanks

  11. Decapping 45acp cases,  using Dillion die. The case does not want to line up with the die hole. The  case hits the inside edge of the decap/sizing die. The shell plate can be nudged just a touch and the case will enter the die. Looking at the case as extracted from the die, it looks slightly angled. I have decapped a case, with the die loosened and the case in the die and retightened. I have cleaned, lubed, adjusted, replaced the spring and ball and cannot get the shell plate to align properly. No problems on any other stations. Probably 3000 rounds loaded (of 45). Press is about 6 or 7 months old.

  12. I'm loading the Hornady 147 XTP over 3grs of titegroup for use in a Walther PPQ M2. The bullet ogives is different than the Zero 147 JHP I have been loading.. OAL on the zero is 1.13, works great. The Hornady will not plunk at any length over 1.095. Does anyone see a problem with the bullet being seated that deep in the case. This is just a paper puncher round that is confortable to shoot. I am using these bullets because then have a slight boat tail and the Dillion works well with no bulging. Got tired of fighting with the Bayou 147's and the bulge.
