  1. After many years of shooting major 3G matches, I finally decided to RO one.

I can't believe I haven't done this before, but it was one of the best experiences I've had.

The match was fun, the people I got to work with were superb, and it's always a great time at the Rock no matter the circumstances.

  2. As a clarification, only Hear-Pro distributors (not Hear-Pro actual......me) do instant plugs now. I am focused on the PRO37 and AMP37 products exclusively. I still offer the option for distributors to do instant, but I don't do it myself.

I would also encourage someone to go with another company for non-electronic hearing protection......especially since many of them purchase their lab made products through Hear-Pro......but do not advertise that. (hint**** 'PRO37 and AMP37 refer to the NRR rating of the material)

  3. Thanks Mark…….you’re spot on with everything you’ve said.

Hear-Pro’s prices are slightly higher on the website because we do not charge for anything else, and even reimburse customers if they have to pay someone to have the impressions made.

Additionally, we provide a 15% discount to anyone show proof of membership in a firearms related organization.

There are several companies out there who provide custom hearing protection, and several of us use the same labs for our high end products.

I will never claim that Hear-Pro is a better company, has the best products, or provides the best service……because all of that is really determined by our customers.

    What I will claim, is that Hear-Pro is more active and provides far more support for the competitive shooting community than any of these other companies. Just ask yourself…….how many of the other custom plug companies do the following;

    - Donate over $65,000 in prizes each year to prize tables

    - Has a dedicated shooting team with NINE active shooters

    - Sponsors another 14 shooters as an affiliate sponsor

    - Sponsors two collegiate teams

    - Donates prizes specifically for female and junior shooters

    - Donates prizes and runs events to benefit organizations like Task Force Dagger

    - Has an owner that actually shoots matches alongside everyone else…….and doesn’t just swoop in to a match to sell something to the captured audience

    - Strives to make sure every single customer is satisfied, to the point of providing full refunds……sometimes MONTHS after the purchase of a custom made product where costs cannot be recouped

I’ve got a ton of these in my back pocket. I’m not trying to make it sound like we are a bowl of grits or anything………it’s just something I’m passionate about. I purchase products from companies like AP Customs, Black Bullets, Akai Customs, DSG Arms, JP, Nordic, Benelli, Shooters Source, Stage Zero, Xtreme Bullets, JABs Steel Targets………and so on, because they support our sport………and not just by donating $100 worth of products every now and then……but REALLY support our sport.

    OK…..rant over.

    Anyway……hope everyone has a great day. J

  4. The sponsors donate stuff to get their name out there and to help promote their business and the match. By giving them out random you have a better shot at doing that as generally if the top guys get one it ends up on the forums immediately. The average shooter gets one and he's talking on the forums and giving the sponsor support and if they need to buy stuff they go to who supports the sport which helps their business. If they offer the nice prizes up for drawing etc it also helps entice people to shoot the match as they have a chance at one of them. If its top in division everyone can pretty much guess who's walking away with it before the match even starts or at least between a couple shooters. That doesn't entice anyone to shoot the match unless your that person

As a business owner who puts tens of thousands of dollars on prize tables a year........THIS!

  5. How does the passguard work? If it has 40dB of reduction and no attenuation filter I can't figure out how they allow conversations. Is it a mechanical filter?

The Passguard plugs are made from a Patented Polymer silicone that has properties allowing it to react at certain frequencies based upon pressure in front of sound.

In plain English? There's a bunch of small silicone balls smashed together....when the sound pressure presents just below one pascal, the small pieces of polymer smash together providing the attenuation. Otherwise, they allow low level sounds, that have a much lower leading pascal measurement, to pass through.

Thanks for the info. It's very interesting innovation. I may try some out in the spring. What feedback do the other users out there have? Do they really work. I'm less nervous about their ability to hear voice and more concerned with how well they attenuate, speed of response, ability to block out pressure waves, etc.

40db of noise reduction. Those who wear them, swear by them.

Perfect fit......(they ARE custom molded to your ear), blocks out more sound than they've ever experienced.......and no splitting headache from a head set squeezing their head......or sweaty ears from the ear muffs.

I say that......and I do sell a set of dual microphone electronic ear muffs for only $65......so those are real popular too.

  6. I've got a Briley tube on my M2, and I wanted to put a larger cap on it so it stuck out just past the end of the barrel.

I looked on Briley's website, and they won't have a cap like Nordic does......(or at least I didn't see one).

Anyone know where to get one........or know if a Nordic cap will fit?

  7. Mark, thanks for the opportunity to be a Match Sponsor for the Heart of Dixie Shootout.

For anyone thinking about having some plugs made, we are planning on setting up early FRIDAY morning, and making plugs all day long.

So if you're shooting on Saturday, and want to have a new pair of plugs to use, stop by on Friday when you come and sign in and look at stages.......have your impressions made, and you can pick up your plugs Saturday morning before you shoot!

Also, watch our dealer's forum here on BE and our Facebook page (linked from our main website) for special discounts only good for participants in the Heart of Dixie Shootout.

  9. Go to your ENT doc and see his audiologist, let them know your a shooter and you can get fitted for custom earplugs... mine worked out great with no release valves.

I was talking to a friend the other day and he said most of his buddies who shoot shotguns all their lives are now almost deaf---I suspect poor hearing protection and shooting a bunch as a youngster without protection.

I also double plug for those thunderous open guns while RO--ing.

Or, get some from us, since we are shooters ourselves, and you'll save yourself almost $100 on basic hearing protection.......and even more on the higher end models.

We use a certified ISO 9000:9001 process, have medical device and material FDA certifications, and we supply hundreds of ENT clinics with their materials and accessories at wholesale prices, which means you're going to pay them more for something they don't do as a primary business.

  10. Right now, we are running an end of the year special.

    Microdefender 25 - electronic muffs - $65.00 $45.00

Passguard Heat Cured Lab Molds (40db of NRR, and you can still hear conversational level sounds!) - $135.00 $110.00.........FREE home impression kit included.

All Custom in-the-ear electronic plugs - $1100.00+ $650.00/pr........FREE home impression kit included.

    Universal Fit In-The-Ear Electronic Hunter Ears - $599.00 $425.00

Buy from a shooter who's out there with you........who supports the forums you are members of...........who sponsors the matches you shoot..........who has hundreds of shooters wearing our products already............and who has a BIG surprise coming for the 2013 season.

You must send me a PM or call us at the number on the website in order to take advantage of these deals.

  11. Well........now my feelings are HURT!

We go to dozens of matches, sponsor shooters, sponsor this forum, donate thousands of dollars in products to prize tables, and no one recommends Hear-Pro?

We've got custom molded products that are BY far the most comfortable, and we also have our own line of electronic muff for $55.00.

Check out our dealers forum, or the main website (www.hear-pro.com), or our facebook page (www.facebook.com/customhearingprotection)

Just remember, when looking at other hearing protection, Hear-Pro is owned and operated by shooters, we wear what we make, and EVERYTHING we make is made here in the USA.........unlike most foamies and large corporation electronic muffs.

  12. HEAR-PRO would like to thank everyone that stopped by and talked to us at our vendor's tent this past weekend.

We also want to thank Kirk for providing us with some great spots to set up and for helping us out on a few pieces of equipment.

TJ Parrish and I shot the match with the staff on Thursday, and had a great time.

I think O3G will be a yearly attendance for HEAR-PRO.

  13. HEAR-PRO is sponsoring the Rockcastle 3 Gun Pro-Am at the end of August.

We are looking for someone to work along side a trained rep for one, two, or three days.

It's going to be hot, muggy, dusty, and you'll be standing all day.

Same deal as always......you must be a people person, be a fast learner, and a hard worker.

Pay can be hourly or commission based.

Message me through the BE site or contact me through my website at

    www.HEAR-PRO.com

  14. HEAR-PRO is sponsoring the Pro-Am championship in Frostproof, FL on July 13-15.

I'm shooting on the 13th and will be set up to make plugs on the 14th and 15th.

My usual help is not available, so I'm looking for someone that can work one or both of the days.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone interested inearning how to make plugs, or someone that has always wanted a high end set of plugs but just couldn't afford it.

I need someone that is a people person, can work in the HOT Florida heat all day, doesn't get flustered too easy, and has pretty thick skin.

Attire will be a free Hear-Pro shirt that I provide, and any kind of pants or shorts --no gym shorts, warmup pants, or speedos (that means you Jeremy Moore :)

There's no catch, no games here......just a shooter who is trying to make a living while supporting the sport.

You can contact me through messaging or my website at

    www.HEAR-PRO.com
