Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. After 500 rds fired and a couple thousand dry fires the trigger now, sometimes, resets much earlier. Until now, when the trigger resets I can see that the sear fully engages the hammer hook (firing SA only; pistol is stock DA/SA). Now,sometimes, roughly 20% of the time, the trigger resets much earlier. When it does, the sear has only engaged the very tip of the hammer hook. I can look at the sear surface over the top of the hammer hook--you could call it a "hair trigger". The trigger may reset early two or three times before it stops resetting early and returns to normal. The pistol was built in 2009. It has never failed to function. I would like to understand its operation a little more and I'm also interested in gunsmithing in the future (working on my own, maybe my wife's, handguns). One additional thing came to mind regarding trigger reset. Angus said that if a CZ did not have a firing pin block (FPB) as in a Shaddow, a 85 Combat, or any pistol with the FPB removed (competition only) he could shorted the reset considerably. Thanks in advance to anyone on the forum who has a comment or an explanation.
  2. You may want to check out the Marksman Pistol Institute, 1280 W. Prince Rd., 85705. Exit on Prince off I-10 (much closer than the Pima Club--but not a substitute), head East, short distance, behind a bank, next to a health club, on the North side of Prince. 25 yard indoor range for pistol and .22 rifle; onsite gunsmith, sells and rents firearms, offers CCW and other classes. Some bullseye competition. Nice people.
