  1. well it was the last stage of the 3 gun shoot. started pistol, then 4 slugs followed by 8 birdshot all goes ok.... i unload and show clear completely my rifle sitting on the table next to me..... i sat there for about 5 seconds before someone in the background yelled rifle....

    yaaa, my bad... lol

    all in good fun... LOL

  2. are you sure you aren't looking at the 550 output rate?

my only other guess is that the numbers for the 650 are without the casefeeder.

I had a 550 and the 300 to 400 rounds an hour range is what I used to get on it.

I timed a guy for one minute on his casefeeder equiped 650. if he could keep it fed with primers, cases, and bullets, averaging that rate per minute over the course of an hour, it would have produced 1, 200 rounds.

you probably already know this but military brass has crimped in primers. the 1050 has a rod that comes up from the bottom and another that comes down inside the case which "sway-gezzes" the crimp out of the case head.

no other progressive press that I know of has that feature.

there are 45 small primer cases, many are blaser but i have seen some R&P and WIN brass with small primer

Hah! You're right. The lit says 500 to 800. With out a case feeder, I was getting about 200 an hour (including setting up the primers, getting the bullets, & filling the powder. I haven't had my feeder long enough to figure out my count now.

Since I stay away from rifle rounds and military cases, it sounds like I've still got the perfect machine for me.

I've got a friend who complains that some of the once-fired .45 brass he has been using comes with small pistol primer instead of large. I told him I think he is getting military cases in there that need to be swayged (sp?), but he won't believe me. He still thinks that some companies are using the wrong primers and gluing a ring in place to hold the smaller primer in place.

Of course, I haven't seen the brass. Could be he's right ... ???

    Thanks folks.

  3. I would start by sticking an empty mag in the magwell and pull the slide to the rear and see if the slide locks to the rear. You can also stick a mag in and pull the slide to the rear and verify that the slide lock is contacting the follower in the mag.

  4. I agree that you went above and beyond, by telling him that if he returned it to how you sold it then you would give him a refund.

Like opendot said, he bought it, he then modified it, and now he is not happy? No gun manufacture would offer a refund after someone modifies their firearm(unless the issue resided somewhere else)

  6. I use an HK45 with a polygonal barrel, I have heard that it is not a good idea to shoot lead rounds out of this type of barrel due to lead buildup? I am pretty new to reloading so am not sure if this is true or not.

they do say that. BUT there are many variables to consider....

how many rounds do you shoot between cleanings?

    how often do you clean?

I did alot of reading on this topic as i wass going to shoot through a stock glock barrel. what I found was that anything under 700~ rounds between cleanings and no one had a problem.

I have personally shot up to 400 rounds out of my glock between cleanings with no issues. on thing to remember with molly coated lead is that the molly is corrosive if left to sit. you should clean your barrel after every range trip.
