Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Do you just want the long blued slide? I have seen blued LS standard models before, but EAA apparently wasn't consistent on those. Alternatively you could just pick up a cheap standard frame and drop the LS kit on top. You won't have the extended safety, so if you're a 1911-pointer kind of guy you'd need one. LS conversion kits are $285 from EAA. You'd be out $710 up front and you could sell the standard frame top for $200 as a "conversion kit" That's true too, I'm still kind of torn on how to proceed. But just knowing myself, it'll be alot easier for me to come up with $160-ish for parts, piecemeal if nescessary, than another $300 chunk on top of $400 for the standard frame. And I'm becoming entirely too fascinated with the inner workings of guns and how I might tweak them
  2. Thanks for the input guys. I figure no matter which model I get I'm gonna have to buy more bits & do some tweaking. Even if I saved up the extra $300 or so for a Stock, I'd still have to get a blued slide (I've always been hooked on the two-tone look ), and that would mean several extra months of carrying a HiPoint 9mm instead of a proper .45. I'm not looking to swap back & forth, just a one-time switch to a DA trigger. Looks like the parts will run me around $150. I've seen pics of a DA Match that look like they're EAA official, so they must have made them at some point. Shouldn't be too difficult for me or a gunsmith to get it working.
  3. Hi all. Not quite sure if I've got the right forum here but trying to squeeze any info about these Tanfoglios from the net takes alot of digging. I'm looking into getting an EAA Witness Match model, but I really want the double action trigger of the basic model. From what I've dug up so far, it is possible to do such a swap, but I'm trying to find out exactly what I'd need. I know I'll need the DA trigger its self, hammer & trigger bar, can anyone fill me on on what else I need and what might be involved? I've seen the videos of stripping/reassembling the frame, and if that's all there is that doesn't look too tricky.
