  1. Absolutely. I've seen people DQ themselves by organizing magazines on a table start by putting their hand in front of the muzzle positioning a magazine, without touching the handgun. The rule specifically states - "by allowing the muzzle to point" - not "by pointing the muzzle" I believe that is the difference.

Yep, ask me how I know.

  2. I love it...

Regular dude: I've never owned an a gun like that, but let me tell you all about why nobody needs to own one...

Buy what you like people, if you don't like what I bought then don't buy one like it. :sight:

I hate to sound like the hater but here goes.

Infinity owner: "Hey, my new infinty can do an inch and a half at fifty yards. They say that is a quarter inch better than the old guns."

Regular dude: "What can you shoot off hand at fifty."

IO: "About 10 inches if I do my part. It would be about a quarter inch worse if I didn't have this new design."

RD: "Then why did you have a mike on that 35 yard paper."

IO: "I jerked the trigger, it is set at 2 pounds, that is too heavy for competition, I will have my smith tune it before the next match."

RD: "Maybe you should work on sight picture and trigger control."

IO: "No Way! I spent four grand on this thing."

RD: "Yeah, your right, it is definatly the arrow not the indian on this one. I would send it back."

Lets be honest with ourselves we aren't shooting 1000 yards or fifty yard bullseye. Those are a completely different sports with a different set of skills that need developed.

From what I have seen in my brief time is if you put mini poppers and no shoots side by side at 35 yards you will have a course that can break a lot of shooters no matter what gun it is. DVC

  3. Do the magazines fit "in" the magnet?

5.2.4 During the course of fire, after the start signal, unless stipulated otherwise in the stage procedure, spare ammunition, magazines and/or speed loading devices shall be carried in retention devices attached to the competitor's belt and specifically designed for that purpose.

Certainly within it's magnetic field, right? I think you're reaching.....

Actually, I shot a Level II match this weekend where I was NOT allowed to use my magnet on a stage because stage description said magazines had to be placed "in" pouches.

RM ruling? Real RM? Did the WSB specifically say "may not use magnet mag pouches?" What would they have done with a competitor running only magnet mag pouches?

The Stage was one where the gun was loaded on a table, all magazines to be used on the stage must start on the table, after start magazines can be placed in carriers. Many shooters grabbed mags and stuck in their pouches. At lunch I was told by someone who had to reshoot the stage because he used his magnet that it wasnt being allowed on the stage, so since I wanted to use mine on that stage also I made a point to ask the RO on the walkthrough and he said if I used it I would get a procedural. The WSB did not say anything about magnets, just that magazines had to be "in" carriers. I Didn't take it up with the RM.

  5. Does anyone have any suggestions on which coating to use? I will be running it in a Kydex holster. I saw they did a build for Top Shot and it happened to be about what I want, but maybe in black. Let me know what you think. I wish I lived in Texas so I could check some of their options out in person.

Outside of looking at the pictures on the site, the best thing you can do is call SV and ask to speak with Brandon. He's really helpful and can help you pick the right options for your build.

  6. I was going through the build list and I do not see any parts that I would rather use. Maybe a aftec, and a koenig hammer. I am not sure about their magwells, I may like the Dawson better. But beside those small details I am more than GTG with all SV parts.

Do my STI mags fit in their metal grips? If not that would hurt the wallet.

If I were to go to another smith, I would pay $3100 with out a mag. So the SV is prob. $500 more than other companies, but you do get a metal grip. Their prices are not to far off.

Yes the STI mags will fit in their metal grips. The competition XL Magwell is very similar to the Dawson (I personally can't tell the difference since switching from a Dawson)

  7. Infinity Firearms are like Lays potato chips, "You can't have just one!" I have 2 and looking at getting into another! Excellent product and excellent customer service! You won't regret your purchase!

  8. Okay, here is my latest USPS/Montana Gold story. (happened today)

Late last week MG shipped me 3 cases of bullets, as usual insured USPS flat rate boxes. I have been following the tracking online so I knew that they would be delivered to my house today and made sure I was home to meet the mail carrier. At about 1 pm I see the mail truck pull up so I head outside to meet the carrier and said hi, I'm expecting a few packages today. At this point he says yes but they were too heavy, so I say it's okay I am here to help you with them. He reaches into a pile of papers and hands me the pink slip which reads "Sorry we missed you...." :surprise: So I look him square in the face and I say but you haven't missed me I am standing right here! He then offered to deliver them for me tomorrow if I singed the paper and gave it back to him.

Long story short I took the paper and drove to the post office to pick up my bullets, when I got there the response was "oh I didnt expect to see anyone about these until tomorrow because we sent out the notice today" ummm why did you send a notice and not my packages??

  9. Brandon mailed me and told me that there is only a difference of 2 mm, beteen the frames.

And he has a solution where i can drill 2 holes and put epoxy on the frame

cool, I would be interested in hearing the details and how it works out for you.
