  1. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I have a pal filler and it is most certainly a very nice CNC gadget. Having held both I think the FA felt like a cheap toy. And it has certainly had it's fair share of unhappy buyers.

Do we really need $1000 presses, case feeders, bullet feeders, to make good ammo? Be honest..... Maybe to make fast ammo, but one can make awesome ammo on a LEE turret press.

I love the pal filler and Umberto has helped me with a few minor issues for basically free when all was said and done. Can I live(load) without it? Sure, but I wouldn't want to.

I wouldn't sell my pal filler for 3X what I paid for it unless I could turn around & buy another one from Umberto - I don't consider it a gadget at all but a vital tool that takes the worst part of reloading & makes it a snap. Why do most of us load on Dillons & not Lees? Most of us here drop thousands of dollars on guns, mags, loaders, supplies, fees & don't think twice about it. Sure you can load primers by hand but if you spend a very small % of your overall expenses on something that makes your life easier, why not have one?

  2. Smartest decision I've ever made - 8 years & still see perfect at distance, need cheaters to read but we'll worth it - just do it Jake, after getting yourself lean & healthy you deserve it.

  3. Received 2000 supercomp brass on fri 8/30/13. From starline

Well, I just checked the Starline website and 38 SC still says not orderable. When did you order this brass you just got?I am headed to the range tomorrow to shoot the third loading on some of this Armscor. I will report how they look.

I ordered mine last Thursday & it is being delivered on Wednesday.

  4. Is your slide lock setup to lock the slide? When I had my gun built the builder asked me if I want my slide to lock back on an empty mag. I chose to have him modify the slide lock so it doesn't. Even with unmodified followers my slide doesn't lock back on an empty mag.

When I got it, the slide stop was modified to not lock back at empty. I installed new stop and it would only lock back with certain mags. Installed longer 170mm mag springs and the slide locks back on all mags but sometimes will drop when I eject the mag. Slide lockback with certain mags problem free but other mags it will sometimes not push the stop up enough and slide will drop sometimes but not always.

You paid for SV. You get factory support, call the shop. Sounds like you might be messing with sucess, is the gun broken in?

You are correct, most LIM/OPEN shooters do not want the gun to lock back.

Unfortunately, I bought it used...does the warranty cover second owner?

I often get heat about my choice for lockback. The main reason is that our multi-gun match rules require ditching pistol with slide locked back and I feel it's quicker to shoot an extra shot or two to dry than to eject and manually lock the slide back. Additionally, I shoot L10 and can't seem to count to ten under the pressure of the COF.

Call Brandon at 972-513-1911 to see if he can help you with your pistol. If it is a factory built pistol, he may be able to help you out. Personally, I would put the original slide stop back in along with Grams guts in the mags and get used to locking the slide manually.

Thanks! I will give him a call. Is he with Strayer Voigt?

Yes Brandon is with SV & his last name just happens to be Strayer.
