I have had the best results with tru-glo, they melt easily and consistently. I tried some from an independent seller and they would not melt well.

Thanks Richard for a good review. I have really large hands and have ordered a set of the bite grips to try.

Did you leave these in a solar oven in death valley by chance? I leave mine in my truck so I don't forget them. It was 100-110 for 2 months straight here and I've had mine since ...2020?
Maybe something changed in the manufacture, maybe something was left out of the details. Just providing my own experience. From Chris at Hunters Gold, "That is usually caused by them getting near heat or being in a vehicle got hot. Unfortunately there is no way to get that off we will have to make a new pair."

Remington R1 Enhanced 5” 1911. I have settled on OAL 1.160, 4.5 grains N320, 180 grain Blue RNFP for 940 FPS.

I had been running a 9lbs variable but I found that a straight 10lbs is 100% with the Aftec extractor. The variable 9 was not.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I found the information quite helpful and I have a question; do most of you run a 19 lbs mainspring with 9mm minor loads in a 5" no compensator guns?
133-135 PF. In my 9mm Government Model I am running a 19 lbs. mainspring with a flat bottom firing pin stop and 10 lbs recoil spring.

When I started shooting USPSA long ago, (there were two divisions), I was using a holster with a rearward cant. I was taught that when holstering either after make ready or after a course of fire to step forward with my strong foot and turn my body so that as I holstered I was not breaking the 180. Some R/Os appreciated it and others wanted to chase me around to see what I was doing, haha.

Tripp Cobra with Dawson basepads. They have run great and fit the box.

I like-
135 Blue Bullet TC
1.11” oal
3.5 N320
132-134 PF
135 Blue Bullet TC
1.11” oal
3.4 Bullseye
132-134 PF
The N320 is much cleaner, the Bullseye is much cheaper.

They did offer me $75 off on a new pair.

When I wrote ‘they’ in my post I was referring to the company, including Brian. I am only posting this here because I was not aware that this heat exposure was an issue with Hunters, and mine were ruined because of it. Forewarned is forearmed.

The lenses in my Hunters got a kind of orange peel looking texture. I contacted Hunters and was told that they have seen that and think it is caused by heat. There is no warranty, but they would be glad to sell me a new pair.
The hunters were never subjected to anymore heat than everything else in my range bag, including my old Oakleys. Oakleys for me from here on out. -
I have used the 147 and like it.

On my Springfield I use these Ergo Gripits. They are pre-cut adhesive and have good traction and some ‘give’.
