  1. Is Jake's mom Chinese too?

    she is mixed

    Country and Western

I heard she toured with Willie Nelson in the 70's. This may explain your exotic back hair.

Nope she played bass in Conway Twitty's band, then was a back up singer for Kenny Rogers in the "Gambler" years.

It was Grandma that was a back up singer for the Rolling Stones and dated Willie Nelson

Now I'm confussed, So was it your Grandma that had the back hair?

  2. What a great idea! I just posted this. :surprise:

You know what they say about great minds.......

I have all the cool bold letters and link to the website, and different fonts, yours sucks

I don't know which these two remind me of more, Felix and Oscar or Burt and Ernie! Throw Chaney in there and it's like a Road show with Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, and Dorothy Lamour.(Don't make fun of the hair DUDE)

  3. yes they are posted by the club house.

That's great, if you are at the range and not over 100 miles away.

It would be even better if the scores were posted so those that shoot friday could check to make sure their are correct before the match is officialy over and nothing can be done to correct them.

Yes, I have been burned before because of this.

Dude, Give him a chance to get a shower and a few  in him first. He said he would try to get them up tonight but these guys have to be plain worn out and they still have one more day of it. He'll get them up for us as soon as he can.

(Did I say "Dude"? That trip with Channey was way to long. Now I'm talking like him.

  4. I have seen on pics of SVI guns a mag release button that I would like to try. The problem is they don't list it on their site so I don't know if it's something they make or if they're using someone elses button. Does anyone know? I'm having problems with my STI one and need to find one alittle smaller but I don't care for the round buttons ones.

    Thanks

  5. I originally got a Berry tumbler (which makes the Cabelas) and really liked it. Everyone said the Thumblers tumbler was the best so I found a deal on 2 of them. I much prefered the Berries so I sold both the Thumblers and got another of the Berries ( this time a Cabelas as it was the best price). Simple to load, quiet, and fast.

As far as a sifter. I just made my own out of 2 collenders from WalMart.

  6. My "powder alarm" are the two eyes on the front of my face. Much cheaper and less trouble. :D

And you NEVER forget to look up.

Ok, say you are loading with a 550 (which is what I load with). Exactly how many primers does the primer tube hold? 100, right? So, every 100 rounds or so, you are gonna have to take a second and feed the beast more primers. Obviously, if you can do all this, while continuing to crank out rounds, and not looking at the primer tube and dropping them in, then you REALLY need a low powder sensor. And, I'd like to see the pic of you with your 3rd arm growing from your chest, cause there ain't no way you are cranking out rounds and doing all that with only two!

I'm with ya SiG Lady. Much rather trust my eyes, than some noise maker that has a battery that can fail.

So, GrumpyOne, You are saying you don't have a low primer alarm on your 550 either then. Because it has batteries and makes noise.

This was never put up as a discusion about if you like them or not. Just as a way to make one cheaply if you wanted one.

  7. This is a cheap or at least cheaper way to have a low powder alarm with stuff you may already have laying around.

I just used a hole saw to make the plate and an old 22cal cleaning rod. Drilled a hole in the rod and put a primer tube pin in to set the alarm off. I had a steel bushing that just happened to fit the top of the alarm but I think you might beable to use a 20ga or 28ga shotgun shell with the primer knocked out. This will keep the rod centered. 2 self tapping screws in the lid and a rubber band to hold it on. No altering to the alarm so if you ever need it for something else it's not damaged.

  8. I just got a reply from Patrick Ryan from Redding. I had asked about getting the new (NO PINCHY FINGERS) stem. This is what he said

Thank you for using Redding Reloading Equipment. The part number for the new “E-Z FEED” pushrod assembly is #96050 and it lists for $24.00. You can purchase one at discounted pricing from any Redding dealer. We’ll start shipping them in 4-6 weeks.

    Regards,

  9. When I shot NRA High Power service rifle I would load my short range stuff (69gr Sierra matchkings) on my 550 with Hornady dies and the micro adjust on the seating dies. For the long range stuff (80gr Sierra matchkings)I'd use the Hornady's but with a Redding Competition Seater on a single stage press.

  10. Took all of 7 mins to get it made and just had to wait on the glue to dry (I used 5min epoxy). I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! It works. Going to have to figure out a small vibrater setup though. I used the tumbler and worked great I just don't have it out normally when I'm reloading(counter top space) I'm thinking about maybe using a sanding jutterbug and see what that does.

    Thanks

  11. Hi, I'm new to the 40S&W game and have a problem. All the searches I've done haven't helped as some of you say you're using WSF but never with this bullet. I recently got a STI Edge and the guy gave me 1000 old West Coast 200gr plated RNFP bullets. I have WSF on hand and would like to use that for now. Eventualy I'm going to shoot a 175gr LSWC with either WSF or WST. But for now I need a load for these bullets. I've never loaded plated bullets (or lead for that matter)before so I don't really now where to start on them. Heres what I'm looking at.

    200gr plated bullet

    WSP primer

    WSF powder

    shooting Major class limited

If someone out there has a load or at least a starting point that would be great.

Also what the OAL should be.

And if you have any info on the lead load, that would be appreciated also.

    Thanks

  12. Is your goal to go slower?

No, I want to go faster but be accuret too. The "slow down a bit" was in referance to not knowing if I made good hits.

I kind of knew what you all have told me I need to be doing but sometimes I just need to be told that is what I need.

    Thanks guys

    Scott

  13. OK, I know this has probably been covered,(everything else has) but I'm having a problem. When I get the buzzer and start my run, I try to move smoothly and ingauge target with 2 to the A and move on. My problem is that after I've moved on I start to second guess myself on what I just shot. "Was that 2 A's or were those 2C's?" and then I kind of loose what I'm doing now.

I think I know that part of it is.

1-learning to call my shots better.

    2- slowing down a bit.

    3-keeping my thoughts moving forward.

4-? (I don't know but I think there's some thing else. I just don't know what it is.)

I really think I'm posting this more as I want comformation that this is what I'm doing and need to fix it. I've only just started shoot matches last year and have about 7 under my belt in S.S. and I also think with all the mag changes that was just one more thing to think about and overload. I was worring more about keeping the gun running than getting on target. I'm going to Limited this year and actually feel more comfident with this gun.

Any thoughts on this would be great.

    Thanks

    Scott

  14. I agree on the Tom Baker and David Tennant but it was Tennant that decided to leave. You guys at least get to see newer ones. Last one they showed here was just after Marta left.
