  3. We ended up with 35 shooters (7 first timers). Had 6 stages with I think 129 or so round count(I was running around so much I don't remember what the final was). I think everything went really well for our 1st time.

Had one stage that needed the movers tweeked alittle and had to replace 1 target that a small tree fell on (shot in half).

We had some super help on setup and tear down got knocked rite out after the last shot.

Everyone I talked to said it was a really fun match and planned to be back at the next one. That's what we were going for.

Dave had the scores up within 3 or 4 hours which again was his 1st time doing so hats off to him.

A special thanks needs to be said for Beth and Derek Mehrle for coming up on Sat afternoon to help us get the stages setup and fitted into our bayes.

  6. As to mags I was just thinking I would buy one of RIIID's welded up mag releases to feed it STI mags. As to condition I have a 3 day inspection period but thank you for the places to look that helps a bunch. I don't mind putting a few bucks into it to bring it up to more current times I just thought it would be a fun burner for a year or two and then a great starting point for my nephew.

I've also been looking at this Para. but just for a backup. One of the biggest things I've seen on it is the bushing barrel.

    Good luck.

  7. Thanks. I still have an older one with a few thousand rounds through it. I had it LvlIII anodized and as soon as my FGW 5.4 is ready it will have new home. It's good to know they didn't just drop the idea. Does it look the same?

Take a look at STI's site. There's a pic of the new grip on there. There's no price so has anyone heard on that?

  8. I was placing an order on their web site rite as the prices went up. One minute the prices were one price, I had half the order in the cart and then I went back to the list of bullets to add a differant type and the prices all changed. Went to the cart and all the prices were up.

    O'well.

  9. "Doubla Alpha are adjustable...is that useful or just something else to tweak?"

I have the DAA rest and love it. I had to have Saul sent it with the mid mount on the pad itself as using a Quinn mount puts it a bit too high. Also helps put it back farther on the gun. All the ajustment in it is great to get it rite where you want it.

  10. The match fee has been increased by $15. It was a hard decision to make.

Let me explain why... more dollars equal more $ and guns to pay to shooters! That's it and the bottom line.

I think we are going to hire the guy who did last years Prize table and let him handle the whole thing... he did a good job with it and I don't want to deal with it.

Then there will be the top prizes... not confirmed yet, but here's what I'm thinking... the overall winner in each division (X number of shooters) will walk out of there with a check for $1000 and maybe a gun too depending on how that end goes. :surprise:

I can't wait to see you all again!

    JT

I have a problem with the way the prizes were given out. How is it fair when you give prizes out AFTER a 3 day match and many of the shooters are already on their way home?

  11. Your Mag and moon clips can be loaded and even in the same case but can not be inserted in the firearm. I've talk to local law enforcement (County Sheriff and State Police)on this and this is what they said was good to go. Now the problem. They also said that many officers are ignorant of what is legal and what is not. Therefore I would suggest keeping your mags unloaded and moon clips out of the same case for transport. Remember, IL. is the last "No form of carry" state so be sure all of you with CCW permits unload at the state line or the Boogy man may get you.

  12. We got off to a slow start but we finished strong.

I didn't get to go out and have that drink but I will tomorrow. Getting one of these matches off the ground is a lot harder than it looks.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I will have all of the pistols displayed near the range house if you want to see them.

I had a great time today. Stages were awesome. Whoever developed the Seeing Double stage did an awesome job. That stage had a huge degree of suck and an equal amount of fun

Had a blast and will be back next year :D

I had a great time today also. Great to shoot with some new shooters. Yes, Mike! Stage 4 was a mother so pay the man!

    Great shooting with squad 15

Hope to shoot with you all again sometime.
