  1. So my fairly stock M2 that has never given me problems has finally got one. The final shell in the tube is coming out onto the carrier and not lifting into the chamber. I have to tap on the bottom of the carrier and it lifts with little pressure. I have a 9 rd tube and I changed the extension tube spring to one with more pressure since intially the rounds were sticking 1/2 in the tube and 1/2 out on the carrier. I have also cleaned out the recoil tube assembly but did not change the recoil spring.

    Help me out

    Thanks

  2. I did the same thing Bigbore did and it works great...especially if you want a pistol grip. I recommend taking your recoil pad off and putting a piece of Starboard( can be found at a boating supply store) on there in its place. It is 1/4" deep and you can form it to fit anything. It is hard but the recoil does not bother me on a SLP. Additionally it is nice having a hard thin recoil pad that does not catch on your shirt. When cutting the Stock as per Mike 45's directions cut the rear of the trigger assembly hole first before you fit the back of the receiver plate. Good luck

  3. So I am getting my thumb ripped apart on my weak hand load with my lifting gate on my SLP and my SX3. I tried the mod like TRUBL and it is kicking my butt. I checked out the T.E. Kelly link and saw that he took down more but when you take down to much it causes the shell to hit the top of mag tube and get hung up. It looks like TE Kellys SLP has a another little piece of metal to stop this from happening. I talked to a pretty savvy guy at MG Nationals this weekend and he did the same thing and had the same problem so he had to dremel(ever so lightly) the top of the mag tube to round it off. Does anyone know where to buy more lifting gates, that I can start over with, that I can tig wield it like 00BULLIT. I definitely think this is the way to go for those of us with fat thumbs.

    Thanks

  4. Getting a can with a solid compensator is the way to go. You don't have to worry about screwing up the threads if you plan on taking it on and off alot. I recommend Surefire- my shift is negligable and the break is great without the can...the only way to go on big bore! Additionally, the Surefire shift(very small) remains constant when you take the can off and put it back on. That is data you need if you are buying a can. Some cans impact shift changes everytime you take it off and on...guys on military long guns and the associated cans see that alot.

  5. I know that FN makes a pistol grip version of their SLP, however, I can't find it(the pistol grip stock, that is). I have seen threads on this and pistol grip/ stocks that have been modified. Does anyone know where to buy one of these bad boys or which one I can relatively easily modify? Thanks

  6. Great info! I appreciate it. I got some Brileys, but before I saw your post Sean. Some better attention on my part could have saved a few bucks...I will use that in the future...thanks. Sean, I have a few questions about Houston 3 gun if you don't mind me hitting you up for info...I don't want to hijack this thread.
