  1. Luckily I had a bunch of factory parts in a plastic bag in my range bag. Pretty easy to pop one out and the other in. Guess sometimes it pays to be a pack rat. That gun has been retired to USPSA Limited only and replace with a Spartan 9mm for ESP. The Ed Brown extended mag release on that one is way under the legal limit regardless of where it's measured from.

Don't you love it when a plan comes together.

  2. my suppressor's tube is made out titanium to keep the weight down. Seeing as how that "part" of the suppressor is the part with the serial #, and by law the oly part that can't be repaired or replaced, it must be pretty robust to erosion.

  3. well thats something to think about. i had read that the reason these were having problems in the first place is bc the same dual spring were being used in the 22 and 17. The result/problems were an "oversprung" 17. From what im reading above is that you are going to use the same spring for your 22/17.

  4. Pet stores carry a "finer" media that I would look for. Got a batch one time that was the exact size as the primer pocket and spent a whole night poping them out. Now I just tumble before I resize. I almost bought the cabellas one but figured that for twenty bones more I could get the hornady and did and love it.

There are alot of cheap, I mean innovative guys on the net who have made some very cheaply with an unbalanced out put shaft on an old vacuum motor and some springs and a bowl. ...

  5. Ahgggg. That's exactly why it's still in the safe. Yeah when he told me just send it in there was a tone in voice like he knew he just ended the conversation. I guess I'll just keep shooting it till it straitens out. How many rounds do you have through yours? I'm just afraid I'll send it in for 3 months then they'll call me and say "well we shot 100 rounds through it and couldn't get a malfunction out of it and where sending it back to you. "

  6. If you can shoot switch I would try. With out knowing what exactly is going on I'll offer this advice. My right hand/arm is paralyzed and I pretty much shot rifles left handed from the bench. Starting idpa and rifle I started shooting right handed. I can squeez a trigger with the right hand but can't support the gun with it. I wish I had switched 10 years ago. Maybe using your strong arm to support the gun and "other" hand to pull a light trigger will help out.

  7. My neighbor, WWII vet, saw me working on a 1911 in my garage and asked me to come look at his. It was a colt 1911, in 38 super, that has never been fired in a small cardboard box. He said he thinks he bought it in a supermarket or hardware store in the late 40's early 50's. I was in awe of that pistol.

does anyone have any idea what an early 50's pistol like that is worth NIB?

I literally havent been able to stop thinking of ths pistol.

  8. I've done the marine-Tex on two sniper rifles and the best method (for grip) is to spread the marine-tex on then get a zip lock bag and fill it with 1/2 air. press the bag into the drying marine-Tex. when you pull the bag away it leaves hundreds of little "fingers/ripples." do this all over until you have the grip you want. when it's dry if its to much, hit that area with some sand paper a little at a time untill you have the grip you want.

i think the stuff is great.
