  1. I ran 4.1 titegroup and 200 extremes but they toumbled like crazy out of my 5 inch sight tracker. recoil was manageable but brisk

no pressure signs what so ever. loaded to 1.185 COL winchester and CCI primers made major 170 ish PF

I went back to moly coated and bayous much softer shooting at major PF and no tumblers

  2. ironman,

    What caliber? (45, I assume...)

Are they swaged or cast? (swaged, I assume....)

    Where did you get them?

    What gun-- auto or revolver?

    What diameter are they?

Generally, I think you could treat them as you would any other 200 gr. bullet if using them in a 45, and attempting to make major. Same loads should work, although without testing its hard to say what the actual velocities would be.

ok, it is a 45 acp .452 diameter moly coated bullet and I am shooting them from a para ordinance limited 5"

  3. I see a handfull of limited shooters running their hi-cap 45s in limited. I understand it's not the best setup, but if you can get 17 in a magazine, are they really handicapped that much? Do the arredondo extensions work well in the Glock - 21? There are several reasons I'm thinking about a Glock 21 rather than going with a G-35. Is this a waste of time and money? A 2011 in 40 would be my preference but is not in the plans right now. I can shoot my SS in L-10 but would like to get in a division where there are more shooters in the next year. Your thoughts please.

I get 18 plus 1 in my para ordnance p 14 with dawson precision base pads and they work great. I know some of the supers and 9's get 20 plus but I really don't feel at a disadvantage at all. the 45 has less felt recoil less muzzle flip, and with wadcutters, I can easily see my bullet strikes where a 9mm or 38 super cant. plus, the plates fall faster!!

  4. I have bought my slugs and 00Buck

1 case of 250 Winchester Ranger low recoil 1oz HP foster slugs (RA12RS15)

1 case of 250 Winchester Ranger low recoil 8 pellet 00 buck (RA12008)

But not sure which size bird shot to buy, thinking of

    winchester #4

    winchester #6

    Winchester # 7 1/2

which size bird shot would be the better way to go,or an even better question; what size bird shot do you all use...Maybe I need 1 1/4oz of shot or a bigger dram equivalent???

this will be used in a 930SPX

I have had stellar luck with high base 3.25 dr eq #5's lots of multiples!!!

  5. If you are shooting 75% of the open Gm who is winning the match, I would say you are easily putting up A class scores in limited if not higher.

    Tom

thanks, that is about what I figured, I wish the local clubs were uspsa clubs, then I could see how i compare to other shooters all over the country.

  6. How are they scoring the match? They might be using the USPSA scoring software and are just not affiliated with USPSA anymore or never were. If they are using ez-winscore, ask the stats guy to print you out or email you a copy of the results with combined divisions. You can tabulate the results with everybody combined, that will get you a percentage of the overall winner, even if they are in open.

    Tom

they are scoring uspsa format and i shoot about 75 percent of the total, but that includes open class shooters. wouldnt i be scored against other limited shooters?

  7. Anything we say would be a wild guess. There's just no way we could speculate based on standings from a non sanctioned USPSA match. The only way you'll really know, is to find a sanctioned club, that holds sanctioned USPSA shoots with USPSA classifiers and get a USPSA membership.

Your Classifications are based on performances on USPSA classifiers, not overall standings. (Otherwise, I wouldn't be a C class, lol) Ask the local USPSA shooters where they shoot.

I am a uspsa member already, there are just no clubs close enough for me to get there. some of the guys have larger pocketbooks than I do and can afford to travel farther!!!

  8. OK, I shoot at a local club ( two actually) that are not uspsa clubs. however many of the shooters are uspsa members, a few are even gms. the problem is, they all shoot open class. I shoot limited.

I usually shoot about 75 percent of the gm who wins the match. but since he is in open and I am in limited, i dont know how I would measure up to other limited shooters, anyone care to speculate? ( I am Usually in the top 3 in limited, but none of the limited shooters are classified)
