  1. Had two Gold Cups in the past trick for me was to put a strip of rubber band under the sight. Medium size rubber band fits the channel, only need a small strip. Won't show and never had another problem with the front pin walking or breaking.

I used an o-ring of the proper thickness, same result. Then replaced it with a Millet.

  2. ps one more question: COL?

    -jb

1.250, .469 taper crimp. Works in all my single stacks and my Para.

    That's what I load for SS, but for 2xStack I load 1.235.

Do you think that also applies to SWC? The lack of ogive gives me pause - or because of it, can load long (1.250)?

The reason I ask all this is I'm not that fond of wasting reloading materials w/o cause as they have gotten expensive.

    Thanks,

    -jb

    ps my taper is .469 - .471. Same-same.

I only run SWC. Same round for SS and P14 Para.

  3. Let's try having this written into the procedure:

In addition to using the gauge, a trigger pull scale shall be used to pull/settle the magazine into the gauge. If the force needed exceeds 1.5 lbs to pull the magazine into position, the magazine shall be deemed oversized. This procedure will be done with the magazine and gauge in a horizontal position with the back of the magazine facing towards the ground to give the shooter the benefit of using the magazine's own body weight supply additional force for settling into the gauge.

Of course, that procedure above still doesn't account for the rule book saying measure on thing, but the gauge not only measures that thing, but also measures the feedlip angle.

Curtis, will with the gauge handle a magazine whose angle from feed lips to magazine back measures more than 165 degrees? (Not that there's a magazine that is designed like that, yet.) Based on the pictures, I don't think it can.

Yep, then we'll need a spec trigger pull gauge, that will have to be certified annually, and the one used at major matches will be a different color than those available to us. Analog or digital? And the exact spot the gauge will be placed on the magazine will not be defined anywhere in the rule book.

Did you miss that the trigger pull requirement was removed in USPSA?

Did you miss that the reference to a trigger pull gauge had nothing to do with triggers, but with seating magazines?

  4. Paul, the best of 2011 is the continuation of the story I've told some of those we shoot with.. Earlier this year I got in touch with the sweetest woman I've ever known. We hadn't spoken or communicated since we were divorced in 1973. We spent a few days together in the Adirondacks in September and realized that we'd missed each other terribly for all that time. We met again for Thanksgiving at her sister's in Oregon, where she agreed to marry me again. She came home with me and we were married here in Colorado on Dec 11. Life is good.

    That is awesome, Congratulations..!

Thanks, guys. It's been an incredible year.

  6. I put a new one in the end of May. It was bright right up to the end of the first stage of today's match. Open the door, two US Poppers left to shoot, 4 rounds in the mag, no dot...static reload...

  7. Ricochets...I've been hit with plenty of them off steel, anyone shooting for any length of time has. A serious incident at a GSSF match some years ago.. I was watching one courses of fire being run, on my right was a friend's wife, then her husband, then another shooter- a big guy. Big guy grunts, hits the ground. It appeared that he'd suffered a GSW to the upper thigh- entrance hole, fat protruding through the hole. Ambulance ride to the ER... He'd been hit with a fully expanded jacket, like a mini Ninja star, looked like a .45. and it went right to the bone. It wasn't off steel, probably a rock or target frame. Reconstructing it later, it appeared that it had to have travelled directly in front of three of us to hit the victim. A neck hit hit would have been pretty serious, to say the least. So, not just steel..

  8. 2011 Camaro SS , it has a 6.2 liter V8 with a manual 6 speed Hurst short throw shifter. This car is so fun to drive and the best part is it was the wife's idea to get it. She loves the color :roflol:

Nice! I just sold one- '11 2SS/RS Victory Red. I spent more time waxing/cleaning than driving. Just didn't fit my lifestyle.

  9. I believe it's a problem with the specs on the dillon powder funnel, just on the .45. If you're loading lots of new brass, call Starline, I think they can modify it for you. Once you've fired it, it's not a problem any more. I load .45, .40, and .38Super on two different 550's, and I've only encountered the problem with .45's.
