  1. Number of years ago, I freezer tested some FP10, slide-glide and 7808 turbine engine oil and found the 7808 to be hands-down the best of the bunch. Slide-glide basically froze, FP10 did well but the 7808 didn't loose anything. All 3 are fine lubes for what we use them for, but if you shoot in an area that has extreme low/high temps it's advantageous to find something that will work year round. 7808 does that for me.

  2. My advice would be to find a Reserve unit and join that. Right now is NOT a good time to be in the military, especially Army or the Corps.

You get ALL the education benefits but only have to do 1 weekend per month and the annual training.

Use their money and go to College. Don't Fk around being a pee-on for 4-6 yrs. Face it, your first term in the military, your not going to be doing anthing of any great importance and you certainly won't have any seniority to do as you please. If you do Reserves, in 4-5 years you'll be getting your degree when you would normally just be getting off of Active duty.

Best of luck whichever you choose.

  3. So I'm sitting at work today looking at a few gun sites, minding my own business and this co-worker walks up behind me, I could sense he was watching over my shoulder for a minute or two. First words out of his mouth were "So you getting ready to go postal? Buying a bunch of guns are you?" For some reason that just rubbed me the wrong damn way and I politely told him to go look over somebody elses shoulder.

Sad that people out there still categorize us...luckily everyone in my office is a gun-nut, so the damage was nil.

  4. I would say getting classified higher in one division over the other is a myth, Production and Limited are both extremely competitive and you truly have to earn your classification.

You have the best possible gun in the 35 to make your own decision. If you don't like shooting Limited, you can shoot it in Production without losing anything competitively. Do the math on buying ammo and you'll see it won't take too long to pay for a reloading setup.

I think in THIS situation, your gun-store ordering the wrong gun will actually work in your favor.

  5. A little bit of trivia:

The actor who played the drill instructor and later captured the smart bug is now the voice of Krusty Krab in Spongebob.

Clancy Brown, he's a great actor. From "Kurgan" in Highlander to the voice of Krusty Crab....What happened? :roflol:

  6. I liked it, somewhat more than the first. The one thing that didn't make any sense was Mickey Rourke's character, it kept me wondering....why???

    Revenge.

Yes I know it was revenge, it just seemed kinda hokey IMHO.

  7. I liked it, somewhat more than the first. The one thing that didn't make any sense was Mickey Rourke's character, it kept me wondering....why??? Just didn't make much sense.

Scarlett Johannson wearing those skin-tight dresses and that black body-suit was a good thing, so that made up for a lot of the boring storyline.

They did have the trailer for "The A-Team" and it looks VERY good, can't wait for that one to come out.

  8. Just because a few people have problems with it shouldn't discredit the many who don't. I built one on a G22 and it runs like a bat outta hell. Major/Minor pf doesn't matter, it just runs and is ever bit as reliable as a stock Glock. My advice would be to keep it as stock as possible, skip the aftermarket slide/barrel.

  9. Long story short: I work 8 hours a day at my regular job, them come home and manage all my online auctions, research and respond to 10-20 "Can you get this gun and for how much?" questions, out of which 1 might reply back with a simple "Thanks" which is fine. But I had an auction with a guy who really rubbed me. I've always prided myself in responding politely and promptly when someone contacts me, but inevitebly life occasionally gets in the way...It happens

I went waaaaaay out of my way to help this guy out on an auction by only adding a $10 markup on a $495 item, give a FREE trigger job (that takes over an hour), FREE layaway, barely break even on shipping, ship out same day payment arrives. Then the guy has the nerve to zing me on feedback because I didn't immediately respond to his email.

Shnit like this really makes you question whether or not all the trouble is worth it.

  10. When I bought a Benny gun in .38 Super/.40 , right off the bat I knocked 12 seconds off my best classifier time shot with a Glock. So in theory a 2011 or 1911 is "faster", however with IDPA's COF's being so restictive in round count and technique, the advantage is minimal IMHO.

With the short COF's like IDPA, I prefer a Glock.
