  1. .45ACP in a 1911 is all I've been shooting for the past year or so. I use 200grain lead semi wad cutters from Missouri Bullets. I like the great big holes they punch out :)

I'm pushing them out with 4.3 grains of Hogdon Clay's through a 5" barrel. They work great and usually chrono between 172 and 175 PF.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Also, thanks to squad 24!!

It was a fine squad - Covered every class from C to M, loaded up with folks from the enosverse, and lots of opportunities to learn for those of us with more potential for achievement than actual achievement. Says a lot when there's more people moving forward to paste that there are targets - on every stage

    Thanks for the pointers!

24 was a fine squad and I had a great time shooting with all of you! Thanks for making my first Single Stack Gnats so enjoyable

  3. Hello everyone! Thought I might take a minute to post some potentially useful information for those of you who have not had a chance to visit our fine facility.

As you know we are located at 2500 Handy's Bend Rd. Handy's Bend will be on your left just a minute or two past the last stop sign in Wilmore. Handy's Bend dead ends at our front gate and becomes the club road. Although the entrance is clearly marked please do not enter through the exit on the left. It has sharkteeth and will destroy your tires. Once you are on the club grounds for about a 1/4th mile you will see signs marking the way to the shooting pits. You will also notice our main clubhouse on the hill as you come in. It will be open and has restrooms. There are also restrooms located in the bath house building just above Shooting Pit#1 as well as portapotties in each of the pits. Our main road as your going towards the shooting pits is a circle and comes back around near the main clubhouse.

    Speed limit is 25mph

There are "Safe areas" located in each pit.

There is ample parking at the pits in the grass.

The Bull's Eye Range(Chrono stage) is located just past pits 1 & 2. All three areas are within walking distance of each other.

If you get lost or need assistance on the club grounds just look for one of the club range officers(guys in the funny orange hats). You may also call my cell phone at (Tom Tryon) 859-621-8118.

I hope everyone has a great time this weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you! Please feel free to drive around our club and check it out. We have 1500 acres. About half of that is forest. We also have about 6 miles of river access and we are a working cattle farm.

This picture isn't great but will give you some idea of the club layout.

See you in the pits :sight:

  4. Alright guys and gals still no official match hotel as of this time and there may not be one. However here are some links to a couple of hotels in Nicholasville, Ky. Probably right at 20 minutes from the range. There really isn't much else closer.

  5. I have been using an Ice Mawell with ETM's for the past several months. I did replace the basepads though with standard 47D basepads. They are just a slight bit longer but still fit IDPA/USPSA boxes. I haven't had any problems so far. I've been shooting 2 or 3 matches a month with this set up on my STI Sentinel 1911.
