Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks to one and all who made this match a success! .pdf results attached. 2009_10_11.pdf
  2. Hello shooters! Just a word to let you know we are accepting late registrations for the 2009 Maine IDPA Championship at Scarborough Fish and Game in Scarborough Maine on Sunday October 11th, 2009!!! We are filling up fast, but there are still spots left! Go to: http://www.scarfg.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/...ampionshipMatch print, fill out, and snail mail your registration form and safety waiver, along with your check or money order! This is a chance to travel to the beautiful state of Maine in the fall, where the foliage is brilliant, the air is crisp, and the shooting is good! Come see our world class 8 Bay IDPA shooting range, take part in raffles, eat at the Boy Scout Chuck Wagon, and meet new friends from around the region and around the country! We are planning 10 challenging stages, 159 scoring rounds, and a LOT of fun! With any questions please contact Rich at glock172630@yahoo.com, and I will get back to you right away! We look forward to shooting with you! Rich Austin Maine IDPA
  3. Hello Shooters! The shooting season is well under way, we are traveling, shooting, and planning for a lot more fun before the winter falls upon us again. Well, for those of us who have winters. To add to the fun, the staff of Scarborough Fish & Game IDPA in Scarborough Maine is happy to announce the 2009 Maine IDPA Championship on Sunday October 11th, 2009! This will be a satisfying and challenging match, with 10 stages and 165 scoring rounds. There will be lightning fast stages, high round counts, great scenarios, lots of surprises, and courses of fire that will test your skills, but most importantly, THEY WILL BE FUN!!!! The entry fee this year has seen a modest increase to a recession-friendly $75 dollars. As all of you know, this is still a bargain for a state-level match. This is a sanctioned, state level match, so your IDPA membership MUST be current, and you must have shot a classifier match within the last 12 months. As you know, a state-level match will draw shooters from all over the northeast region and the nation, and be a great opportunity for socializing with like minded shooters! In addition, this is a great opportunity to visit the beautiful state of Maine in the autumn, peep at leaves, patronize businesses and restaurants, and stay at some high quality hotels that are located less than 5 miles from the range. Remember our safe, accommodating range features an easy layout, specially designed world class shooting bays, and ample parking with a short 1/10th of a mile walk from your car to the range. There will be vendors and displays, a chuck wagon for you to buy lunch, several guns to purchase raffle tickets on, and of course, FREE STUFF!!! The match is limited to 90 shooters, and you will be registered first come first served, so dont wait, go to this link: http://www.scarfg.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/...ampionshipMatch and print out your Match Application. Write the check, mail it in, and you'll be good to go! We all look forward to shooting with you! Rich Austin SF&G IDPA
  4. The First Annual IDPA Maine State Championship went off without a hitch in Scarborough Maine this weekend, Saturday October 11th. We had 78 shooters through 10 stages on our new 8 bay facility. Shooters from as far away as Florida shot beside local shooters that had never attended a sanctioned match before, and a great match was shot by all! Special thanks to the Safety Officers, including those who came from "away" to lend a hand. Everyone worked to make this the safest event that it could be, and assure that the organization and actualization of the match went off without a hitch! Scores are already posted on the Scarborough Fish & Game website at: http://www.scarfg.org/twiki/pub/Main/2008I.../2008-10-11.pdf Thanks again to one and all! Rich A. SF&G IDPA
  5. Gentlemen and Ladies, There has arisen a difference of opinion at a local club about the existance of a Novice class. One person says he cant find any mention of it in the rule book, and therefore it doesnt exist, and therefore anyone who shoots less than marksman in the classifier remains "Unclassified. Another disagrees, saying that it is a "generally accepted" class, and that the lowest common denominator these days is so low that we should accept that anyone who shoots less than Marksman but completes the classifier should have SOME kind of classification, rather than EXCLUDING them from the game, per se. Comments? Guidance from MD's or HQ? Thank you, Glock172630
