  1. I've been having problems getting N340 to burn cleanly in my 45ACP & 40 cal (stock GLOCK barrels). How much did you have to diddle with the N320 load before you got a clean burn? Appreciate your info.
  2. Just got use of a friend's 650 and wanted to run some loads for my Kimber and Glock 21. Unfortunately the N340 load I am using is very dirty. Any suggestions? 230gr Montana Gold FMJ, 6.5gr N340, 1.260" OAL, 0.471" crimp out of a G21 stock barrel and I'm getting only 791 fps. Out of my Kimber I still only get 830 fps. I'd like to push a 230gr FMJ anywhere between 850 to 900 fps. Suggestions for a cleaner burn? Switch to 320? Seat bullets deeper? 180gr Montana Gold FMJ, 5.9gr N340, 1.125" OAL, runs at 1022 fps out of a Glock 35 but the accuracy is not that hot and I get powder residues. I'd like a load going around 1000fps, good accuracy at 50 yards and is clean. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
  3. cool. I shoot 175 and 180 grain bullets so I'm assuming I should go with N550/150? Any comments? Appreciate your help!!
  4. Is there any reason you chose 540 over the 550? I really have no idea which powder to choose in their 500 line. They are both "multi-perforated," but I guess 550 burns a tad slower. Does it meter well? Shorter than the full-sized "logs" I'm accustomed to I suppose (IMR 4895).
  5. Anybody with experience using VV Rifle Powders? I'm thinking about getting into their N550/N150 for 308. How do they compare to 748 or IMR 4064/4895? Burn cleaner? Meter better? Pressure wrt to muzzle velocity (N550s are supposed to deliver higher velocity with lower pressure)? Overall impressions? I love VV handgun powders and am sort of jumping in on good faith. Would like to hear from guys who've actually used them since I can't find anyone that has played with them locally. Will probably use it for Silhouette and Hi Power, pushing 175gr Sierra Matchkings. Thanks for pitching in.
