Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I've been loading 4.9 - 5.0 grains of Bullseye, Missouri Bullet Co 200 gr. LSWC (IDP#1 BH18) OAL 1.250 - 1.255, crimp .469 - .470 with velocities around 875 fps which meets power factor easily for IDPA. This has performed reliably for me for years. Hardly any lead buildup in the barrel.
  2. The 200 LSWC (H&G #68 profile) is all I have loaded in the last 10 years. I haven't had any problems in my or my daughter's Springfield Armory 1911 or my son-in-law's Kimber. I have used most of the popular brands of bullets without any trouble. Wilson Combat has a note with their magazines not to exceed 1.250 OAL to properly work in their mags. All of my loadings are from 1.240 to 1.247 in that range. Try that and see if it helps. Happy shooting.
  3. Thanks for your help and the link. Getting ready to tear it down this weekend and hopefully get all the pieces back on and up and running.
  4. I've had a RL550B for about 5 years now. It worked fine up unti a few days ago. The ram was working fine and then on the next round it started to bind slightly. After priming, the handle doesn't spring back. The ram feels like some trash had gotten in it. I called Dillon and they said it needed cleaning. My question is....is there a set of instructions, step by step, to taking the press apart , cleaning, lubricating, and reassembling. I've loaded approximately 15000 rounds of 45 Auto only and have never taken it apart. I've greased the ram only. Thanks in advance for your help.
