Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. From what I understand the Starline case is a bit thinner than the winchester 9x23, but that's about it. They are nearly identical otherwise.
  2. SA Friday, Thank you for your advice. I will give that a shot. I also haven't practiced drawing on the move with the new holster - that concerns me a bit. I can't imagine that my technique will be flawless while running to a first position. It really just annoys me that I never had to worry about this with my old Blade-Tech injection molded holster. It almost seems like I've taken a step backwards. The only downside with the old holster is that it was made for the G19 so the slide on the G34 looks a little ridiculous hanging out a couple of inches from the end. Hopefully over the next few weeks this will become a non-issue with the new holster loosened up a bit as it wears in some more. Excellent, so at least the holster wear has nothing to do with the snagging issue. Have you also found a ton of Kydex shavings everywhere during your dryfire practice? I find them stuck all over the slide while practicing. So at least maybe something is wearing in on the holster (and wearing on the gun too obviously!).
  3. Well I went ahead and loosened the retention screws until the point where they were just wobbling in the holes, and then tightened them back to where they just stopped wobbling. The gun will actually leave the holster fairly smoothly now (unless you get a bit of a radical backward pitch on the draw), although there is really not any kind of "locking" action as it goes into holster anymore. The gun is basically just held by gravity. If I slowly turn the holster upside down with the gun in it, the gun will drop out just as it gets to perfectly vertical. That is with no mag in the gun, btw. Is that normal, or should they normally have more retention force than that? If that is how it's supposed to be I'll just have to loc-tite those screws in so that they don't come out somewhere along the way.
  4. Naw, it is the Sevigny Competition fiber front sight. I just watched carefully and it is not dragging on the sight channel. I did talk to someone from Blade-Tech and they basically said that using spacers to stand it up more vertically might help. I can also keep loosening it I guess, but as it is now you can let the gun go from about an inch up and it will fall into position. Not much tension left there to loosen up. Mostly it is just frustrating me because the last thing you want to be thinking while waiting for the buzzer is that your gun might not come out of the holster.
  5. Does anyone else have a problem with their G34 sticking in their Blade-Tech DOH holster? With mine, if you rotate the gun backwards any at all when you draw it will lock up in the holster and not come free until you push it back down and pull it up nearly vertical. It's ridiculously annoying, especially when you go to pull the gun out and instead it just rips the holster away from your body and pulls your belt up. Mine has also shown a lot of holster wear very quickly. I probably haven't drawn the gun more than 500 times and the finish is already turning silver on the right side of the slide for a few inches near the muzzle. Is this normal for the DOH Blade-Tech and the Glock 34/35?
