  2. Hi,

I'm in the process of try to get contacts that will work for my 50 year old eyes. My issue is how do you get a clear site picture and still see the targets.

If any one has done that please advise the best way. I'm on the second pair of contacts and still trying to figue out the rite combination. I think my issue

is I have never had to wear glass before.

Do some searching here on monovision. Dominate eye set up for sharp focus on front sight, other eye for infinity. I took the gamble and like it, it doesn't work for some.

Monovision? Where do I find a link?

  3. I also started hand loading some where around 38 years ago, some of the greatest times dad and I have had togeather. We are still talking over the in's and out's. Any way.

We got a 550 when I got out of the Corps, I have loaded alot on it. And so, I have to agree that you just need to clean the primer seating pin off every so often. You just can't push hard enough to put a small

dent in the primers unless debris is on the primer seating pin. If you seat all the way to the top of the stroke the most you can do is flatten the primer and maybe put a small ridge around it.

  5. Hi,

If "we" don't like the direction our local club is taking "we" must get involved with the planning and set up. Same goes for Majors.

It takes alot to set up a small match, I'm not seeing any comments about the work aspect of this matter. And then who is doing it.

At some of the matches we have it has been the club Pres, VP and two or three others setting it up. Them 45 other shooters show up to shoot.

Then of course the complaints start.

Has any body else had this experience?

  7. Sounds like you need to put new springs in the AFTEC. FTF'S What type of bullet are you useing? Montana Gold, Remington, Winchester? The MG's need a little more crimp.

If the slide is going, ka-chunk when chambering I think a little more recoil spring is needed.

  8. I started shooting Tue again at RIO and I was using the Dillion muffs and could hear the steel hits. It is so dark in the back of those bays after 7PM this time of year that the 2x2 plate is just a grey outline. You can watch for the splatter and see that faster than you can hear the ping. The Dillion Muffs help hear for sure.

Waiting for the sound is like waiting to eat lunch it consumes time not food, don't waste it. Get to work, Aim, Call your shot, move on. You can always go back if you've missed.

I was lucky and got to shoot with the Army Guys at Area 2 this year. It was great! watching Mr. Travis shoot steel showed me if you aim, all the steel will be down before you realize the sound of the hits. Bang/Clang are to fast to hear. Well I'll keep trying!

    Remember the fun!
