  1. Related to the wording in the IPSC Handgun Equipment Check Manual ... Manual Safety - With the hammer cocked and the safety on, press the trigger. The hammer should not drop. With the hammer cocked and the safety on, press the trigger. Release the trigger and take the safety down to the off position. The hammer should remain cocked. The hammer "should not drop" or "must not drop"? Should implies that every effort should be made to ensure that it does drop but if it doesn't it is probably OK
  2. Excellent answer ... thanks. I was working chrono at a match last weekend and found a competitor with SA/DA gun in production where the safety didn't work. He said "show me in the rule book where is says it has to". I did refer to 5.1.6, but it doesn't explicitly say the safety has to work, although I suspected it did. I didn't have the equipment check manual handy, nor did I think to look there, but that is the right answer
  3. I cannot find any reference in the IPSC Handgun Rulebook that states that the external safety on CZ Shadow that is being shot in production has to work properly!? The gun does not require a working safety to meet the ready conditions, so is it OK if it doesn't work?
