  1. I'm looking to get a rear sight built for my single stack for Novaks adjustable rear dovetail. The only sight I can find that's made for that dovetail is the adjustable Novak and I really don't like it. Basically I want a Heinie-esque qwik sight picture (and profile) to fit that dovetail. I asked Heinie about it and he said it may be on his list of to do's in the next 3-4 months. I've asked custom smiths on 1911 forum but so far they have been too far backlogged to take a job like this.

I realize this will be expensive.

Anybody out there doing anything like this, or can anyone point me in the right direction?

  2. So how can I improve my match placement and bring my percentage up?

What do I need to do to see more improvement?

The inconvenient truth of the matter i the only way to bring your percentages up is to shooter more accurately faster (better). That counts for every stage, whether it's a long field course or a quick classifier.

If you are working that hard you should be seeing a ton of improvement. If you are not seeing that improvement it might be time to work harder. If it is a mental block, search yourself and find out what it is and take the necessary measures to overcome it.

If you are a B class shooter because you don't know what the classifier is, you are a B class shooter. But that can change.

  3. I am officially a dumbass (not that it was ever really a question)

Took off out of Indianapolis this afternoon to my parents in Overland Park KS with the plan to head down to Tulsa tomorrow morning, shooting on Saturday.

Went to get everything unloaded, and check stuff and realized that I left my CR speed belt, with CR Speed Holster and Mag pouches at home. This was confirmed when I called home and my son said I left it hanging from his bike.

I broought my other gun bag that has my Single Stack with belt and holster, but I just can't seem to get the Brazo's limited gun to fit!!!

So unless anyone has a spare out there that will work with a full length dustcover Brazo's Limited gun and mag pouches that I can barrow for Saturday, then I am shooting my L10 single stack rig.

I am driving down tomorrow, you can call me if you have one to spare

    thanks

I'm shooting my single stack L10 rig. So don't feel left out.

  4. Thanks for the support!

As far as the most classifiers goes all of those lim 10 classifiers I have were shot with the same single stack gun and 8 rnd mags. Making a total of 39 classifiers shot with sstk gear, although only 19 of them really count for sstk.

  5. I want to join your club. I truly am a single stack snob, one of the snobbiest. I shot a glock once but I sold it shortly there after and I won't buy another.

My proof of single stack participation can be found by checking out A57133.

What say you fellow snobs, may I join?

  6. Yes!! I do think this is worthwhile training and it should transfer to live fire. I've found that through calling my shots on reduced ipsc targets in dryfire I was suddenly able to call my shots on ipsc targets in live fire. I'm not saying I can call all of my shots perfectly but calling my shots made sense after what I would have thought was far too much dryfire.

  7. My only complaint is that the class winners did not recieve a pistol as it is stated here: http://www.1911ssc.org/Pages/Prizes.htm

I didn't care at the time because I was super pumped to have won my class. Looking back though, it said I should have as well as the d c and a class shooters that did not recieve a pistol while 10 m's (gm's) did, albeit they deserved them, but so did the d class winner. I don't mean to sound whiny or selfish but I bet you would feel the same way. I'm also kicking myself for not shooting a springfield.... Guess what I'll be shooting next year. <_<

All my whinning aside it was a great match and I will shoot it again.

I'd like to respond to my own reply by saying that a fellow shooter contaced me and informed me that there was a mistake and all would be straightened out. After playing phone tag with Dave Williams from sprignfield I found out there was a mistake and all of the class winners did recieve their said pistols. It would have been very easy for them to say oops and forget about it but they didn't, so my thanks goes out to springfield and the rest of the ssc crew. Springfield is a real stand-up company (which we all knew already.)

  8. I thought it was a great match. I was expecting it to be a little more difficult even though it was rather difficult as it is. But the whole thing ran really smooth save for the crazy rain and hail break on friday. It was my first nationals and my first shoot where I was able to watch some of the great gm's shoot, if you haven't seen them it's really something.
