I doubt the issue is with mag, I'd stick with FMJ / round nose with PCC.

My Gen3 and 4 G17s have no issues with any stock Glock mags, including gen 5 mags. Need to be careful with OAL on flat point projectiles.

You can end up close to 2k, depends on which trigger, buffer setup, comp, stock, lower, upper and hand guard.
