The comp, yea I’m not sure if it was failure of design/execution or a marketing gimmick.  Or all 3?

The comp might work at higher pressures/velocities, but I don’t see how it can do much at 120PF.

Just checked, watch Practiscore or WRCs web page & Facebook in about a month, registration should be setup by then.

A Kingman WRC event would be fun, and not too far away.

  3. I found Federal 147 grain Syntech worked fine, but did not have great accuracy. The 124gr version was better. Never any creep. But neither came near the accuracy and consistency of hand loads with 160 grain .358 BBI bullets. That load is magical for me in both 929s (one Limited and one Open).

At the load and make ready, some guys fiddle with the cylinder at closing it after loading, like they are trying to spin it, what the hell is that all about? I imagine Ive put several hundred thousand rounds thru the several revolvers Ive used over the years, never once turning or trying to spin a cylinder, and never once have I experienced some manner of malfunction of the revolver.......am I missing something, or just lucky?

I do this, to make sure the cylinder is locked into place. It always is, but I do it anyway. I do something similar with my semi-auto, in that after the press check I make sure the slide is fully forward. It always is, but I do it anyway.

I think I’ve run across that post. I’m aware that the X5’s are great guns. How do the compare to say a staccato xl or other 2011. Is that an apples to apples comparison?

I grew up on single stack 1911’s and am relatively new to the 2011.

The Staccato is a nice gun, no question. Fit and finish were OK on the one I had, but nothing spectacular. The P226 X-Five fit and finish were excellent for a factory (albeit Custom Shop) gun. I found I liked the grip on the Sig better, and it pointed well for me. I also like the Sig trigger; I found it a little nicer than the Staccato. Neither is, of course, as good as a true hand fit gun like an SVI.

  6. So can one get on a waiting list? If so, I would like 5K of fully processed, “9 Major” sorted. Although I don’t load 9 major, I do have a very finicky S&W 929 revolver, and usually have to pay a neighbor kid to sort my brass.

Why do you think there shouldn't be a  CO should be in SCSA ?   That's the most popular centerfire class.

Given that there is no power factor in SCSA, and there is no need for a magwell, CO and LO are basically on the same ballistic footing as Open. That shows up in the results, too. But, hey, it allows for more awards, patches and plaques.
