  1. Alright everyone. Less that two weeks from the match and things have come together for a great match. We have 6 great stages for everyone to enjoy. We also have 82 shooters signed up to shoot the match. Thinking of having a Friday squad if anyone want to shoot on Friday. Let me know if anyone is interested.

The sponsors have stepped up in a big way with plenty of prizes for the drawing. Here are some of the sponsors Remington, Hiperfire, Stage Zero shooting supply, Wheaton Arms, Pure Gold shotgun chokes, and Get R Grip. There are more to come just need to confirm.

Looking for to seeing everyone at the match.

    Mike

  2. Everyone

Sign up started tonight for the Tarheel South 3gun at the Clinton House match and I think this match will fill up soon so go onto Tarheel 3gun.com and register for the 7th of Feb match. Don't forget you need to be a member of Tarheel 3 gun and it's free to sign up. A lot of sponsors have signed up for this match and it will be by drawing before the match starts. There will be 6 great stages so sign up and enjoy the great experience of 3 gun monthly match by Tarheel 3 Gun.

    See y'all at the match

  3. So, these triggers have been out for mostly a full season. How have the triggers held up and how are they once they've been shot a few thousand rounds?

I have a E that has around 6000 rounds through it and a C that has about 3000 on it. Both have performed without a problem and the feel only gets better. Still the best triggers on the market

  4. Seems like it may have been my JP oversize anti walk pins. I swapped them out for the mil spec pins and fired 20 or 30 rounds with no issues today. I did also swap out the safety to a noveske sts just for good measure.

Glad to hear you got it fixed. Enjoy it

  5. old thread revival...

I just put a 24C in a lower that had a SD3G and before that had a CMC flat. It feels a little weird... the safety is much harder to disengage now than is was with any of the other triggers. When I set the hammer with the lower off the gun the hammer didn't want to move when I pulled the trigger. I had to kind of pry it up to get it moving. With the hammer cocked it feels like the hammer spring has almost no influence on the hammer. Once it starts moving the 2 coil springs get it going but I am not feeling good about this. I put one in a friends gun a couple of weeks ago and I don't remember any of this happening...

Check the spring rods to ensure they are in correctly. The notch needs to be outboard. It sounds like they or one is in backwards.

  6. Well I actually got a call from one of the Match Directors from 3GN after submitting comments on their website. We talked for about 10 minutes and I express my views about how I thought it was unfair that the people that stuck with it do not get to keep their slots. He stated he understood my concerns but 3GN nation felt this was the best policy. He advised me that they were going to opening the registration again soon and to keep a watch out. He also stated that only about 100 people were able to sign up for a match.

Granted they are still going with the redo but I give props to 3GN for actually calling individuals that submitted concerns and trying to address them with a personal conversation rather then a blanket email.

+1 for 3GN on that. I will be waiting to sign up again, must companies wouldn't have made phone calls.

    Adam

Since establishing this thread I have offered my email and phone to ALL. That offer still stands. Please use it if you have a question or concern. I will take the time to hopeful get you an answer.

As for the train wreck on the match registration, I apologize and take responsibility...no one is more frustrated and upset about it than I am...but I am dedicated to making this work both in fairness and in logistics. Any one that knows me and or has participated in ANY event that I am part of can be attest they are treated fair and repectful.

I am passionate about this sport and see all the wonderful things it offers to its participates...which certainly out weighs the "hassles". So be assured that at this moment 3Gunnation is working this problem...

Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with your concerns...it does mean a lot to me and to 3GN, we are just trying to grow this game!

    Guys

I have been shooting Charles tarheel matches and I can tell you that Charles is for making great matches for the shooters. He will do everything he can to make the regionals great matches that everyone will talk about after they are over. Everyone needs to hang on and wait until this is corrected and the regionals will be worth the wait.

  7. If you really want to see what it is all about and feel the trigger Hiperfire will have a tent set up at Blueridge 3 gun match at Rockcastle in two weeks and then they will have a tent at the international Pro/Am the 1st of Nov. if you can't wait they have a code for a 15% discount for the next few days on the website. Just use the code MS930.

  8. So does this have a shorter reset than the AR Gold? Or do you mean better as in more positive reset? I'm still skeptical of all the extra parts.

To me it is more positive reset and I can feel it better when it resets. I like this when shooting long range so I know where to stop my finger. You need to feel one and you will see what everyone is talking about.

  9. Anyone get a chance to compare these to the AR Gold?

I ran the AR gold for a couple of years and change to the Hiperfire and I like the Hiperfire must better. It has a better feel to me and the reset is better. They are close but the Hiperfire is better.

Anyone can also use the code MS930 for a 15% discount until the end of Sept.

  10. I have use them all. All the mention triggers above are very good but I think the Hiperfire with the short reset is the way to go. I have them in my 3 gun rifles and love them. The new C model with the short take up and short reset is excellent trigger and I believe you would like it. Like Dustbuster1 said above. Once you try one you will like it.

  11. +1 on the Hiperfire. I put one in my first build but was a little nervous when I saw the plastic crossbar piece that holds the springs. Loved the 2.5 lb pull though. Put a Gisselle SSA-E in the next one based on recommendations and having 2 stage triggers I love in my bolt guns but I like the Hiperfire much better. Still not sure about the endurance of plastic in the trigger group. Time will tell but feel, pull, reset are very nice and crisp.

There is no plastic parts in the trigger. All metal.

  12. Guys

I have the Hyperfire in 4 of my rifles and I have never had an issue with the safety engagement. I have shot 3 majors and 15 3 gun nation weekend matches and no safety issues at all.

Palmetto has them for $199 as stated above and I have heard that the website is being updated with new pricing.

    Excellent trigger for the cost.

  13. I am also running a Hyperfire trigger and love it. Have been running AR Gold and have had one that doubles. Hyperfire is about 2.5 pounds of pull and has the best reset on the market. I've run the Geissele, AR Gold, JP for years, and CMC. This new Hyperfire is the best I've had. Love the short reset for the long targets when shooting 3 gun. Take up is very clean and crisp. I recommend the 24E but they now have a flat trigger (24C) on the market. Great trigger for $190. Check them out on their website.
