  1. I would love to hear suggestions as well not looking to make major. Just accurate and reliable. I would like to know if anyone is using the 124grn Bayou Bullets specifically and what COL they are using.

  2. Either will most likely feed fine

I like the Tc's because I can adjust the col without having the ridge where it goes into the RN sticking out

Not sure with your HK how long you can load with my SIG's and 1911's I can go fairly long if I choose to

Donnie will sell a sample pack of ea to you

you may want to try a 100 or 250 of each before you commit to a larger order

    good fortune with it

Exactly why I was leaning towards the TC. Really don't think I will have function problems with either bullet. Don't know about accuracy.

  3. Just bought a new H&K VP9 and it's the only 9mm I own so I guess I will be reloading for it.

Scoured through the forum for a load and found that the 124grn Bayou is pretty popular over Titegroup which is the only powder I use. I also use Bayou Bullets in my 40's and 45's

My question is which bullet shape are the majority of you using for great accuracy, reliability or both. Very few posters list which shape bullet they use, only the weight.

    Any specifics are greatly appreciated.

  4. When you said it made the feel better... less pull? What's the measurements when you pull it now?

It just feels much lighter and crisper. I have no scientific data.

I can tell you that the stock II hammer had one sear hook that was 2 thousandths higher than the other when I bought it. I stoned them to the same height and it greatly improved the feel but it is still a mushy trigger.

I've already done all the other common stuff to it. Polished internals to a mirror finish, ball point pen spring under plunger, 13# hammer spring. This is the only trigger I've ever got on a witness that I'm not crazy about. Maybe it's the whole DA thing.

  5. Yesterday I was cleaning my stock II and my wife's elite match, and just out of curiosity I switched the sear housing groups.

I have always liked the SA pull on my wife's match, that's why I switched them. It made the DA and SA pull on my stock II feel awesome.

I switched them back but was curious if anyone else was shooting a stock II with a Match sear group.

Is there any reason it wouldn't work provided you leave the Stock II hammer?

  6. Thanks for the help everyone.

I reloaded some more rounds yesterday after tightening the primer seat. Changed the hammer spring back to 14lbs and it runs like a top.

I feel like an idiot for not double checking the primer seat when I set up the new press.

  7. Just checked my bullets and the majority of primers are flush, so I checked the press. The primer seat was backed out almost a full turn.

Tightened it up where it's supposed to be so I hope that fixes the problem. I haven't ran many factory rounds through the gun, but the ones I did ran through the gun 100%.

On the bright side I've got about 300 rds that should give me plenty of practice with stoppages. Don't think it would be a good idea to try to reseat all the primers in loaded rounds.

  8. Is your sear slipping and catching on the 1/2 cock notch possibly? How does the trigger pull feel when it doesn't ignite the primer? Does the first round you rack in always go of?

Not catching on half cock and the trigger feels the same.

  9. I'll try to take a pic of the primers that don't pop, but they are dimpled.

The spring is brand new from Wolff. It does it with the factory spring as well.

I know my primers are flush so that may be the problem. That never occurred to me. They are definitely not seated below flush.

As far as switching to STI, not interested. The amount of gun for the money doesn't add up for me. Sorry

  10. Need a little help here guys.

I have a Stock II in 10mm that will only pop 3 out of 5 primers and I can't figure out why. It will launch a #2 pencil at least 18" from the barrel.

    Things I have done:

    15lb hammerspring

    Hening XL firing pin

removed firing pin block...have tried with it also with same results

polished inside of firing pin hole

tried winchester and cci primers...no difference

It will always pop the primer if I recock the gun and fire it. The hammer rest solidly on the rear of slide, so there is no play there.

I just can't seem to figure this one out. I have 15K winchester primers and 4K CCI primers so I don't plan on switching. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  11. FWIW, I have loaded the same cases 10+ times to major PF. Almost all of the brass started out as once fired glock brass. My brass gets run through a u-die every single time it's reloaded.

When I started reloading the 40 I was very anal and would case gauge every round, divide brass by brand, separate brass by number of firings.....etc. Nowadays I just shoot it till it splits or I lose it, whichever comes first. The one caveat may be what you are shooting it out of. All of my brass is fired out of Tanfoglios or XDM's.
