  1. This is great feedback. Obviously I have my JP-5 at this point since this is a very old post. I went with the stainless horizontal comp. The gun is 100% the fastest in my arsenal now. There is basically no dot movement and stacking 5-6 shots in on a 12" plate at 15yd is easy to do without thinking much. Even easier to stack doubles obviously. I would be afraid of the vertical comp overdriving the gun tbh and I got a 14.5 PW so I don't have the option of changing. That being said I'm very happy with it as is and now consider it pretty much a non-issue.
  2. I am considering ordering a JP-5 for my first PCC, and I want to get the 14.5" with pin/weld treatment so the comp will not be coming off. Does anyone have experience shooting both? What do people run now? Was originally leaning towards the titanium competition comp for a lighter gun, but now considering the vertical port comp. Here is what a JP rep had to say via email on the topic: The Vertical port comp with have ~15-20% move downward thrust compared to the 3-port design. We do not offer the Vertical port design in titanium. I personally like the feel of the 3-port.
  3. Long time lurker finally made an account. Bit of a gear nerd. -I am new to 3GUN and Run & gun did my first 3Gun match this weekend, and my first RNG in April. Currently using a STI or Staccato, F1 AR-15 w/ Burris XTRII 1.5-8x dual focal plane, and a Benelli SBE3 with Briley 3Gun parts. -STI/Staccato Fan - My first competition gun was a DVC 3-Gun. I also have a DVC Open and a Staccato C2 Limited with the Dawson Ice Comp. -2yr USPSA shooter -Got a CZ 457 to shoot some NRL/PRS 22 but have yet to do anything other than plink with it.
