Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. OK the 135's are shooting great so I have moved on to 147g v-crown that I haven't been to in love with at 5.0g Power Pistol. This is Alliants max but was to light to work all slides. I went to 5.3 and it was a lot better. Feels just like the 135's. Well that'a it and I am off to the range!!! Craig
  2. Shot a bunch of rounds with different guns today and all went perfect. So I just finished 50 of the 135g as I think I am going to really like them!! Craig
  3. Shot the 6.0 rounds and they were perfect. Will load and shoot tomorrow with multiple guns. Craig
  4. No, just lighter than my other rounds. I could live with this round but I think 6.0 grains would be a little more like my other rounds. Will post tomorrow as I have now loaded 6.0g. Craig
  5. Well shot the 20 rounds and it was a little light but very nice to shoot. I will try 6.0 grains of powder but 5.8 I can live with. I do have a friend with a crony but he is ill so I try not to bother him with it. I really think I could go to 6.2 but don't want to rush it and will ladder up or maybe stay at 6.0 if it shoots well. Thanks for all the replies. Craig
  6. Thanks for the reply. I will shoot this morning and reply back. Craig
  7. Just loaded 20 135g JHP at 5.8g Power Pistol. I load 115g at 6.2 with 6.7 being max. I load 124 at the same as 6.3 is max and I load 147g at 5.0 max. I loaded the 135 sort of at what I think is close to max as all these are all light loads. Any thoughts on this? No data is available for the 135g. I will shoot the 20 I loaded tomorrow unless anyone has any real problem with my thinking. Craig
  8. Late yesterday I went and shot 12 of the 125g FMJFT rounds and no smoke and a nice comfortable round. I want to try these in my S%W airweight!! Ought to be be real nice. Now I need to search around and find brass to load. Craig
  9. Well I received 500 125g 38 cal FMJ flat top bullet from American Reloading yesterday. Just loaded 25 at 6.3g Power Pistol and will test tomorrow. This load is right between 38 and 38+p. I am sure it is safe as my Rock Island is +p rated. Craig
  10. I was in the bad habit of not wrenching down the dies as tight as I should and some would loosen up and cause problems. I bought a RCBS simple wrench today thats like a sawed off socket with a handle added. Works great. Craig
  11. Well I only bought like 5000 of the Bosnia Ginex primers and just finished them off a few days ago with no problems to report. I am back to Winchester primers and I do like them better as they are more stout than the Ginex but boy the Ginex worked when nothing could be bought at any price. Thanks Bosnia. Craig
  12. I am not sure of the brand of bullet but it's a hollow base standard wad cutter. I shot some today and they do smake but not near as bad as the others. Thanks for all the input. Craig
  13. OK just found a bunch of wadcutters that are hollow base sweded lead that I will load up and test. Thanks to everyone for the replies. Craig
  14. I don't like these bullets but just trying to get rid of them and I have a friend that shoots 38 special and I was thinking of his needs. JHP have always worked better for me. Craig
  15. They are, with a blue lube in two groves. Craig
